Albergue Do Pelo

Located in the historical district, Pelourinho is the largest collection of Baroque colonial architecture in Latin America, considered a UNESCO World Heritage site.

An exotic and mystic place rich of folk culture, and majestic churches, convents and museums. Pelourinho is not only a tourist attraction for its picturesque, cobblestone streets and authentic colonial buildings, but it’s also known as a great leisure place.

We offer dormitory style (male and female), each with individual lockers and bunk beds with a total of 58 beds. To make your stay more pleasant and comfortable, the hostel also offers laundry facilities, TV and Music room, not to mention a very efficient and friendly front-desk, always willing to help and make your stay an unforgettable experience


Crowded with cafes, live music bars, dance halls and delicious restaurants, Pelô is visited by tourists and natives looking for fun. Don’t be surprised to listen to all kinds of music and rhythms while walking around the Pelô, and you’ll be amazed how easy it is to be hypnotized by Olodum songs and dance steps. Resting on a hill overlooking the Baia de Todos os Santos (All Saints Bay), Pelourinho offers you all in one place; it’s also a great place to buy souvenirs such as handcrafts, antiques, african-bahian sculptures and other trinkets that makes great gifts.

Directions

Coming from the Bus Station:
Take the BARROQUINHA bus at the Bus Station and get off at BAIXA DOS SAPATEIROS, right at the corner of Padre Agostinho Gomes street. On that corner, you will find the restaurant “Casa do Benin” which is located in front of the hostel’s street.

• Coming from the airport:

Take the AIRPORT – PRACA DA SÉ bus and get off at the last bus stop and walk towards the “Terreiro de Jesus”. Then, walk down the “Ladeira do Pelourinho” street. Once you’ve reached the end of this street, you’ll find the hostel on the second street to your left.
