Approximate travel time is 55 minutes From the airport take the A1 to Wien. Join the A1 leaving at Thalgau. Turn right when leaving the motorway, towards to Hof, and follow the signs to Bad Ischl. You will pass St Gilgen, and Strobl, before coming to Bad Ischl. You will pass St Gilgen, and Strobl, before coming to the outskirts of Bad Ischl. You will pass a series of out-of-town shops on the left (Hagar, Hofer, Billa) and a Jet petrol station. You will then pass an Audi / VW dealer on the left, and not long after that, you will see a Shell petrol station on the left. Almost opposite the Shell garage there is a road off to the right. Fork right towards Bad Ischl. You will now have the river on your left, and a steep bank on your right. Follow the road into Bad Ischl. You will automatically feed into the one way system. Keep in the righthand lane. You will pass the Concert Hall in a park on your right before coming to a set of traffic lights. Turn right at the lights, the river is on your left. You will pass over a hump in the road, then up a slight incline to a junction. The Alt Ischler Brau will be on your right. Go straight on. (Officially you have right of way at this junction, but beware). At a left hand bend you will pass the Konsum supermarket on your right, followed very quickly by the HBLA Hauptschule (large grey building) on your left. About 150 metres after the Hauptschule, the road forks. Take the righthand fork (do not follow the road left towards the Katrin Seilbahn). Immediately the road forks again, take the left hand fork into a 30 km per hour zone. You will have hedges on both sides of you. You will go round a lefthand bend and the road will widen. Straight ahead is an apartment block, but you need to follow round to the right and up a slight incline. Within a few yards, there is a large yellow house on the left followed immediately by a road off to the left. Turn sharp left back on yourself, not just the 90 degree turn. You are now in Erlenweg. Our house is next to the top, on the left.
