Eagle River is a small suburban area north of downtown Anchorage. Eagle River is known for its hiking trails. The Eagle River Nature Center is the northern gateway to Chugach State Park. This is the best opportunity to view wildlife in the Anchorage area. Eagle River is near the Alaska Native Heritage Center, Eklutna Village, and Thunderbird Falls. Eagle River is separated from the rest of Anchorage by Elmendorf Air Force Base and Fort Richardson Army Base.

The Eagle River Motel is located off of the Eagle River exit off of the Glenn Highway. At the top of the off-ramp, there is a stop light (intersection of Eagle River Road & Old Glenn Highway). Drive through the stop light for one block, take a right on Monte Road and another quick right on Old Eagle River Road. The motel is on the left-hand side.
