Cycling trips in Cuba

Activity/Tour

We design tours that take on average one week and begin and end in Havana or Varadero. We visit places like Havana, the Province of Pinar del Rio with places like Viñales or the Sierra del Rosario, the Centre of the Island with Cienfuegos, Trinidad or Remedios, the area between Havana and Varadero. We do it on bike mostly but always with motorized transportation as back up. We can quote any size of group starting 2 persons. We provide all hotel accomodation with breakfast and dinner. Lunch is included in the form of a snack along the way. We provide modern bikes in perfect condition. A english speaking professional guide on wheels goes along for explanations and technical assistance. Behind us there is a follow car with the luggage and in case somebody is too tired to continue.

Typical Day

We get around 07.30 AM and meet with the guide for breakfast. We discuss the program for the day, the track and how we are going to deal with it, the things to see along the way and where we will stop for visits. At 09.00 AM the luggage goes in the follow car and get on our bikes. Regularly the guide checks upon the bikers and for any problem he can call the follow car for assistance. Around midday we make a stop for our lunch in the form of a pick nick. We continue for what is left for the day. In the early afternoon we arrive at the following hotel where we already find our luggage in the rooms: time for refreshing in the pool or discover the area around the hotel. Dinner is served in the hotel buffet restaurant. In the evening we meet the guide at the bar and have a beer while we discuss the experiences of the day.

Age range, type of group

You need to be an active person but age is not really an issue. This is not a tour for hard professional bikers. Average distance per day is around 50 km. If somebody of the group prefers not to cycle he or she can always do the track that day in the follow car. So this tour can be done in family of with a few friends.
On demand we can also make tours for active cyclists with challenging day tours of over a 100 km.

Sleeping and meals

The overnights are done in 2 to 3 stars hotels. Almoast all hotels have swimming pool. The rooms have air conditioning, private bath room with shower, satelite TV: Single and double rooms are available.
In Havana and Varadero we can provide 4 or 5 stars hotels.

Policies & Restrictions

You can not bring pets. You need to come with a travel insurance that covers leisure cycling.

Rates

An average of a 100 euro per person per day including lodging, breakfast, lunch (pick nick) and dinner, guidance, bike rental and motorized transportation, and occasional visits.
The final price depends on itinerary and number of participants.

Other Information

The guide speaks english, french, spanish and german.

Discounts Offered

The final price depends a bit on the number of participants and the period of the year but average is around 700 euro including the bike rental. We can give discounts if guests bring their own bikes.
