Surrounding Area

The house is located in Pogerola; Pogerola is one of the hamlets on the western side of Amalfi and was the castle of ancient Amalfi’s Maritime Republic, located on the hills above the town, where the population found refuge during the many incursions from the sea. It is an authentic ancient house of the coast of Amalfi, renovated with love by its owners, who spend their own vacations there; it is in a quiet place inset as it is among the farm and the suburb of Sopramare; you can also quickly reach the heart of Pogerola, with its shops, bars and restaurants by foot, climbing 120 steps on stairway or walking 600 meters on the little way passing near the house.

The apartment consists of a spacious and sunny lounge featuring handmade terracotta floors, antique furniture, a big and comfortable double sofa bed. There is a separate kitchenette with a little electric oven, a dishwasher and a fridge. The bathroom, small but well equipped, is modern and refined with hand painted tiles, a shower box, a sink, a bidet and a toilet. There are two terraces; one located as you enter with a view of the valley and the second bigger one (approximately 25 square meters) with deck chairs, table and chairs from where you can enjoy the magnificent panorama which begins at Penisola Cilentana and spans across to Conca di Marini; you can also admire the imposing site of the Monastery of Santa Rosa and the surrounding area of Amalfi. The terraces are in part covered by a shady pergola for your comfort when you eat outside. The house is very cool during the summertime because of its thick walls and its high vaulted ceilings.
