Great Family Vacation Rental Near W. Lake Okoboji My family stayed here in the summer of 2007, the kids loved it and the price was very reasonable for all the amenities. It is located approximately 15 minutes from Arnolds Park, which we the family theme park we visit every year. We feel fortunate to have found this place in the Iowa Bed and Breakfast Innkeepers directory, because we usually pay $250 a night for similar accommodations. Our family of 6 only paid $125 a night for the first 2 nights and then the rate dropped for the remaining 2 nights. It is clean, has a computer for the kids to access the Internet on, has a TV, has a library of videos, and lots of board games for the kids. We fixed all our meals here, which saved money, and we Bar_B_Qued in the evenings on the propane Bar-B-Qer they supply. The Chapman Family Omaha, Nebraska

Description of Surrounding Area

Everyone who has ever visited the Iowa Great Lakes area in the spring or summer agrees that it, without a doubt, ranks on the top list of places to go fishing. Blue skies and crisp clean air are generally predominant during the summer months. Outdoor sports to enjoy include fishing, canoeing, biking, hiking, boating, cycling and golfing, just to name a few. Feel free to bring your boat as we have ample parking for your vehicles.

Just 10 minutes from the shores of Lake Okoboji in the Iowa Great Lakes area, the Prairie Cottage is a private vacation home for families, groups and others desiring privacy and lots of parking for their boats or ATV trailer. Located just off Hwy 71, between Milford and Spencer, Iowa.

Sleeps & # of Bedrooms

The Prairie Cottage sleeps six adults in two bedrooms, a futon couch and a roll-away bed. Master bedroom has a standard-sized bed, 2nd bedroom has a bunk styled bed with a twin on top and a double on bottom. One bathroom with a tub/shower.

Amenities

We furnish a microwave oven, toaster, compact refrigerator, electric grill, and a coffee maker. We also furnish you with dishes, glasses, cups and an assortment of kitchenware. We have a video collection, TV, a desktop computer and Wireless Internet access, games, puzzles, and cards available in the living room for your enjoyment. And you'll enjoy relaxing on the larage enclosed patio area -- great for Bar-B-Qs in the evening.

We assist you in finding local attractions and other needs you might have, but for the most part our property gives you the privacy many of today's vacation travelers desire.

Restrictions

No accommodations for pets, but there is a high quality kennel just 4 miles from the property. No smoking on the interior, but smoking is allowed on the attached enclosed patio.

Other Information

Rate is $650 per week for entire house. $160 per night with a 3-night minimum from May through September.

Directions

Located between Spencer and Milford Iowa, just off Hwy 71. Enter the City of Fostoria to the west off Hwy 71 -- you'll be turning on to Main Street. The Prairie Cottage is on the south side of Main Street in the first block off the highway.
