Description of Surrounding Area

The island of Ciovo is a small island situated near Trogir, with lots of beaches, both cultivated and untouched ones.
The main characteristic of our island is a family atmosphere, since the island is full of small holiday houses, whose owners are usually from Trogir and Split.
Villa Pape is situated in a little village on the island of Ciovo, Okrug gornji. Once a small fishing village, Okrug gornji is a small and quiet resort on the island making it ideal for both couples and families.
The beaches near Villa Pape are pebbled, while the island is full of rocky beaches. Nearby beaches are suitable for all ages but they are probably the best beaches in the resort for young children due to its gentle slope into the water.
At the beach some 200 m from the our house water sports are available (jet ski, paragliding, surf, diving, rent-a-boat....). Also, there is a sailing, boat trip to islands Solta nd Drvenik and fishing trips. Around the resort, there are a number of companies offering scuba diving, tennis and fitness.

Ciovo is connected with Trogir by a drawbridge. Inhabited since prehistoric times, the island is home to a rich cultural heritage.
The whole area around Ciovo is on the world heritage list. The medieval town of Trogir, Split with its Diocletial palace, Roman city of Salona, fortress Klis and many other interesting places to see. There are also daily tours to Sibenik, National Parks Kornati and Krka, Hvar, Brac and even Dubrovnik, and more....
Our area is convenient for its distance to Zagreb Split highway, 18 km, and the distance to airport 3 km, while bus station is in Trogir and railway station in Split.


Villa Pape is a three-story house with a garden full of Mediterranean sub-tropic vegetation.
Front side of the villa is tiled with famous Brac stone, the one also found on White house in Washington DC.
The villa was built in 1970 and its purpose until 2000 was a family summerhouse.
In the year 1995 it was renovated for commercial tourist purpose. Next renovation was in year 2001.
The house has three floors, ground and second floor are for rent, while the first floor is for our family. On the ground floor we offer two 4 bed apartments, while the second floor is different, one 2+2 bed and one two bed apartment are situated there, also two double bedrooms. All apartments and rooms have SATV and air condition. We also provide internet access in our tavern.
Next to the villa is a small tavern (only villa's guests) where our guests can have breakfast and dinner, where you can relax with a glass of wine and try Croatian food

Directions

Take a highway Zagreb-Split A1. Choose exit Trogir.

When you enter Trogir you have to cross first bridge that will get you to the center of the town.
Once you are in the town follow the road (this will be the only road) to the next bridge to Ciovo.
When you cross the bridge and enter Ciovo turn right. Follow this road some cca. 1,5 km, until you reach a cafe on the beach Mediteraneo, park there and call us (contact persons Ira or Boris) if you have a mobile phone.
If you are without phone try to find us by driving by Mediteraneo caffe bar some 100 meters.
There is a little road on the left, turn there.
The road is little and not easy to spot. There is a sign in front of the road TEREZA K. it could be your guide.
Once you are in the road, go up the hill, in the middle of the way there is a curve and above it you can choose three roads.
You need to take the right road, follow it up the hill, and at the end of the road you will see our house.
This whole road from the entering ( main street ) to our house is 150 m long.
