Spend your days behind a dog sled crossing frozen ponds, winding along river valleys and between snow-laden stands of spruce trees. Come home each night to a modern log cabin, fabulous meals and a place to warm your feet by the fire as the northern lights erupt in a dazzling display overhead. Explore miles of groomed trails around the main lodge skiing, dog sledding and snowshoeing. We offer 3 and 5-day all-inclusive trips from Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge into Alaska's Brooks Range and Gates of the Arctic National Park.

Typical Day

Imagine your ski plane touching down in four feet of powdery snow as you land at Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge 200 miles north of Fairbanks. It's "springtime" in the Brooks Range which means 14 hours of daylight and daytime temperatures around 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Your guide will take you up to the main lodge for lunch and get you settled in.This is the ultimate in Alaskan experiences combining comfort and adventure 60 miles north of the Arctic Circle, six miles outside the Gates of the Arctic National Park and 180 degrees from anything you have every done before.

Age range, type of group

Depending on your itinerary, you will spend the next 3-5 days cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and dog sledding. Or, you may choose to sit by the wood fire and enjoy the incredible peace and quiet of the Brooks Range. Each trip is customized to meet your needs and ability. We have been serving guests from around the world since 1974, and know what it takes to provide excellent service. Remote facilities are not suitable for children under the age of seven.

Sleeping and meals

The main lodge has three rooms; each with a double and single bed; each with a breathtaking view of 5-mile long Iniakuk Lake which is covered with four feet of ice and about that much snow. All Alaska-style gourmet meals are included.

Restrictions

Rooms are no smoking only. We request our guests smoke only in designated areas. Remote facilities are not suitable for children under seven. No pets please. We do not have a liquor license, you are welcome to bring your own bottle.

Rates & Availability

Our all-inclusive tours start at $1495.00 per person, per night, which includes lodging, all meals, dog mushing, snowshoeing, skiing and Northern Lights viewing and round-trip air transportation from Fairbanks. These rates are based on double-occupancy, two-person minimum.

Accessible by ski plane only. All flights are weather dependent. Check-in time 12:00 noon; check-out time 11:00A or earlier depending on flight scheduling. Guests with health or dietary restrictions are responsible for disclosing their condition on the guest application form.
