We are located in the north /central part of Minnesota where the prairie meets the forest and the glaciers formed over 375 crystal clear lakes. It is the land that is said to have been visited by Vikings in 1362, more than 100 years before Columbus came to America and who left the famous runestone to prove it. The area is a perfect place to bring the family for a vacation.

Accommodations

At Shady Rest Resort you'll find a quiet, comfortable, informal and safe facility where families can relax, be together, and enjoy their vacation. We tale pride in the cleanliness of our cabins and the resort grounds and continue the tradition of exellence that our guests have come to know. Our cabins are all new or remodel constantly to keep them in top condition. They are airconditioned, have full sized kitchen appliances, microwave, coffee maker, toaster...etc. They also have tvs, charcoal grill, picnic table, your own fire ring, and a large deck overlooking the lake where you can relax.

Rooms/Suites

All the rooms have full size beds unless indicated. All the linens are provide except your personal towels for bathing or showering and hand towels. Soaps are also not provided.

Amenities

At the resort you'll find plenty to do. We have a clean, safe beach with a water slide and a sun deck, 2 tennis courts, volleyball, shuffleboard, horse shoe pits, 2 playgrounds, basketball, a gameroom, a convenience store with a bait and tackle shop, and a laundry facility. We also have a boat ramp, dock space and a fish cleaning house.

Restrictions

We do not allow smoking in the cabins, pets of any kind, jet skis, atvs, or fireworks on the resort.

Directions

From Minneapolis, take I-94 west to Sauk Centre (1hr 30 min) then go west on state hwy 28 (16 miles) towards Glenwood. We are located on hwy 28.
