Balco Symphony

Balco Symphony Residence, is operated by Balcomalta. Just on the outskirts of Sliema, Balco Symphony is situated in Gzira and within walking distance one gets to downtown Sliema, The University of Malta and a 20 minute bus ride will get you to Valletta - the Capital city.

As we do not have a 24hr reception please e-mail us your arrival time and flight number upon confirmation. if you arrive after 20:00hrs, our transport service is compulsory at a charge of 12 euro per person one way or 20 euro with airport return.

All 17 rooms are for single occupancy. We understand very well that long stay students that come to study, especially on internship or at the university, enjoy socialising with other in-house students yet love their own privacy. The rooms are carefully designed and having the facilities of 90 litre fridge, hair dryer, direct dialing telephone (VoIP) bilingual sat TV, radio and balcony or bay window. All rooms are airconditioned (cooling and heating) at no extra charge.


Complementing this property, there is 2 kitchens and dining area for in-house guests at no extra charge. The residence does not have a curfew and all residents are given a front door key and may enter the Residence at any time. Non-residents are not allowed on the premises after 10.00 pm

The boarding house have a roof terrace with a distant sea view, luggage store for late departures and elevator from 1st floor to all bedrooms. All rooms are cleaned once a week, towels are changed twice a week and garbage is collected from the rooms. Laundry is also available to all guests at a charge. WIFI is available at a charge of 2 EURO per GB

Our host visits the residence every day. If you arrive after 20:00hrs you must use our transport service since the driver will make the check-in and give you the keys. We accept all major credit cards and currencies for payment.

Sliema is a centre for stylish shopping, trendy restaurants and cafés and is also a major commercial and chic residential area and houses several of Malta's most up-market hotels.

Sliema, was once a quiet fishing town on the peninsula across the Valletta Grand Harbour. The town began to develop rapidly in the early 20th century as a summer resort for wealthier Valletta residents. Their elegant villas and town houses line the quiet, inland streets. The Sliema promontory offers on one side stunning views across to Valletta and on the other, open sea views.

The promenade, which runs for several kilometres from Gzira just south of Sliema to St Julian's, is ideal for an early morning jog or afternoon stroll. There are plenty of seats along the promenade and on summer evenings the seafront becomes a sociable meeting place for locals.
