Hostal El Refugio

Bienvenidos to our Refugio, the Spanish word for mountain lodge. We (Lorena and Peter) invite you to spend a few days in our hostel where you will find a friendly and very homely atmosphere in a cosy environment.

Our beautiful wooden house is nice and warm with 3 great fireplaces (including an old stove to cook on) and gives you the feeling of being in the mountains, even though you are in the heart of Pucon.

You will find us easily on 540 Palguin street in front of the Pullman bus terminal. Just a block from the main street and the JAC bus terminal.

We are fanatical hikers and can give you all the information about the best tracks in the area. Thanks to our guiding experience we can also tell you everything about Chilean and Mapuche culture.


The hostal also has a lovely garden where you can chill out under the cherry tree, lay down in one of our hammocks or enjoy a great chilean wine by the campfire.

Directions

The address is Palguin 540, right in the heart of Pucon. It is very easy to find, as it is in front of the Pullman bus terminal.

When you are arriving from Santiago, try to book a Pullman bus (which is cheaper than all the other big companies and it is just 5 steps walk to our hostel).

If you are arriving from Puerto Mont/Puerto Varas, Osorno (Bariloche-Argentina) or Valdivia you take a JAC bus. Their terminal is also in the Palguin street and is just half a block from our hostel (walk in the direction of the centre and you can't miss us on the left hand side).

Or when you´re coming from San Martin (Argentina) the most convenient and best bus is the Igi Llaima bus and it arrives in Pucon also just in front of our hostal.
