If you want to mingle with the locals and not be confined within a resort, this is the place to be. I really enjoyed myself. I am planning on going back real soon. Thank you Lynda and Les. Lynda and Les make you feel most welcome and give you all the help and information you could wish for. Only a short walk to the wonderful beach, Cabarete has plenty of restaurants and food shops. Definitely recommend Vecinos.

Caberete is approx 10 minute in a car or motor bike and has numerous restaraunts so eating out no problem also several supermarkets in caberete. highly reccommended

Description of Surrounding Area

Cabarete is world-renowned wind-water sports destination with all the charm of a tropical village atmosphere. We're 100 meters from the gorgeous ocean beach across the street, and 10 minutes from the bustle of downtown Cabarete, which provides all the amenities a vacationer looks for - beach sports, souvenir or grocery shopping, bars, dining and night life. Local vendors hawk delicious fresh produce or BBQ chicken and pork from roadside kiosks.

Book a dune buggy excursion, beach horseback riding, jungle or river boat safari, mountain/waterfall rappelling or whale-watching tour from main street vendors. A walk through the Cabarete Caves feels like traveling back in time. Rent a car and explore on your own, to experience the rich diversity that makes up this island nation.

Windsurf lessons or kite-boarding classes and equipment are readily available from beach-side shops with instruction from the local pros.

About 50 minutes east of us, is the world class golf course at Playa Grande, designed by Robert Trent Jones - a must see/play for every golfer. Other courses are found at Playa Dorado (30 min west) and closer.

Our condos have central air-conditioning, and a high-speed internet wi-fi signal is available throughout the property.

We have 24-hour electricity with the land power, and back-up systems of inverters and a generator.

Kitchens are furnished with a large GE fridge and stove, stocked with cookware and dishes, glasses and cutlery, a toaster, espresso coffee maker or french coffee press, and kettle.

Bedrooms have a king or queen-sized bed (twins also available), dresser and chair. Spacious closets have full sized mirror sliding doors, storage units and hangers.

Bathrooms have a bathtub with a shower, and large medicine cabinet.

Living rooms have a couch, chair, cable TV, dining table and chairs.

A perimeter wall, 2 dogs and night security guards ensure your safety and peace of mind.

Maid (or laundry) service is available for $10/day.

2/2 condos have a safe in the room, the others have access to a safe.

Use of a common clothes washer and dryer, trash pick-up, propane for the gas stove and unlimited hot water-on-demand, electricity and a free parking space are included in the rental fee.

The usual 10+16 = 26% tax surcharge that the hospitality industry is required to charge here, doesn't apply to us. We pass that saving on to you. This makes our prices and the value we offer, even more attractive. We have no hidden fees.

Restrictions

We love pets and have 3 cats and 2 dogs of our own. We've hosted some pets in the past, and find our own quite territorial, so if your pet is ready to stay indoors or play "2nd rank", they could fit in.

If children are well-behaved and respectful, they are welcome here. You'd need to provide your own supervision of their pool and common area usage.

We have accommodations available starting at $25 / night and up, depending on the size of condo or room, the number of nights you're staying and the time of year you come. We are a Canadian couple who have come to the Dominican Republic to enjoy tropical winters instead of shoveling snow.

Our resort is unique in that we only have 6 rental units - which means you have pretty much an entire resort to yourself. One mile from downtown Cabarete's bustling night life and amenities, we offer a tranquil setting to relax and unwind.

Vecinos is located at the east edge of Cabarete, a thriving, world-renowned windsurfing destination on the north shore of the Dominican Republic.

It's 30 minutes east of Puerta Plata, 20 minutes from the major international airport there, and 10 minutes from Sosua.

We're on the east edge of Cabarete, 300m east of the Texaco, and on the same side of the street. We're across from Cabarete East (a condo complex) and 1km east of Janet's - a popular grocery store in town.
