Surrounding Area

The cottages are situated close to the village of Vernoil, 24kms from the picturesque town of Saumur. Completely surrounded by woodland, vineyards and forest tracks this is the perfect place for activity holidays, cycling, horse riding, walking, golf and fishing, or for lazing the days away by the pool. Being in the heart of the Loire Valley it is ideal for visiting the numerous famous chateaux such as Villandry, Chenonceau, Azay le Rideau, and the vineyards of Chinon, Saumur and Bourgueil to name just a few. There are excellent lakes and rivers for all sorts of water sports too.

Accommodations

All of our gites are newly renovated and where possible we have retained as many original features as possible - exposed beams, tuffeau stone fireplaces etc. The cottages are extremely well equipped, and furnished to a very high standard. Some of the holiday homes have private gardens, all have access to the heated swimming pool, boules court and pic-nic area, and the private woodland. The gardens and courtyard are maintained regularly and the complex is securely fenced, making it a safe environment for children.

Rooms/Suites

All of the cottages have fta satellite tv, dvd/cd players and there are numerous films and music for your enjoyment offered free of charge. All kitchens have dishwashers, washing machines, microwave etc. All ground floor rooms are tiled and have rugs. The bedrooms have extremely comfortable beds, and bed linen and towels are provided at no extra cost. Bedroom floors are laminate with rugs. Blackout blinds are fitted to all velux windows, and there is a small safety deposit box. Bathrooms have shower enclosures and heated towel rails wc/basin.

There are numerous restaurants, bars etc in the town of Saumur together with many shops, a theatre, cinema etc, In the local villages you can also find good quality restaurants within a 10 minute drive.

Directions

Our cottages are just 40 mins from Tours airport, 3 hours drive from Paris, or 1 hour 30 mins by TGV. Saumur is 25 mins drive.
