Active Adventure

We have horse treks to suit all levels of rider. Relax with an easy 1 - 2 hr ride through NZ beech forest, rich with native flora & fauna, before heading into open farmland below huge mountain ranges & through pristine rivers & streams.
For the more adventuresome, and skilled riders, there are longer day treks & 2 - 6 day explorer treks which really allow you to experience the rural NZ lifestyle.
Treks are adapted to suit riders skill & confidence levels.

Typical Day

Our Multiday explorer treks start with a great breakfast, before tacking up & heading out through the Rangitikei hill country. We ride along well tracked ridgetops, through NZ beech forest & beautifully clean braided rivers. Lunch is carried on packhorses or in saddle bags & there's plenty of time to enjoy the views & take photos. We head into our evening campsites late afternoon, where you can enjoy a hot shower & relax before sitting down to a home cooked dinner, followed by a comfortable nights rest.

Sleeping and meals

Accomodation for most Multiday explorer treks is in comfortable bunkhouse accommodation, with hot showers & home cooked meals. Our Special summer trek & mini over nighter, may include camping/campfire cooking.

Restrictions

No restrictions on age, gender. No smoking in buildings or around stable area.

Other Information

There are many other activities in the immediate area, like hiking, rafting, kayaking, bungy jumping, trout fishing & garden walks for non riding friends or partners, or to extend your stay.
