Activity/Tour
Duende Tours is a highly experienced local multi-sport adventure travel provider of ecologically and culturally-oriented tours in the rainforest and beach areas of the Mayan World in Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. As an international team of Europeans, Americans, and Latin Americans, we have been able to integrate western travel needs and quality standards into a local culture with different living standards and understandings.
What differentiates us from other tour organizations is our philosophy about adventure travel. We prefer to think of our tours as personal journeys of reflection, fun, and learning. Our tours are directed towards individuals that are looking to push their physical, educational, and cultural limits just a little further whilst off the beaten path. In other words, our tours are made for active travelers, interested not only in nature, but in the unique and stimulating learning experience of sound eco-friendly and culturally-sensitive methods of travel.

Some of these adventures require a very good physical condition, while others are less demanding.
Typical Day
A typical day on one of our tours would start by waking up early to the amazing sounds of tropical birds and howler monkeys. After a refreshing swim in the lake and a good breakfast it is time to break up camp and get ready for a energizing off-road bike adventure ride through lush jungle Which may require, at times, carrying your bicycle over fallen trees or through big mud pools. We rest for lunch and cycle further while occasionally stopping to observe snakes, wild turkeys, spider monkeys or other exotic wildlife. When we arrive at our destination we are amazed by its beauty. In the middle of the jungle we discover high-rising Mayan ruin complexes and before preparing for the night we experience an amazing feeling: the realization that only very few people have been so lucky to visit this place.

Age range, type of group
Most people joining Duende Tours are between the age of 25 and 50. Although, we enforce an age limit of 14 years for an accompanied child on our regular tours, we offer family travel for those with younger children.
Sleeping and meals
We stay at eco-friendly local, and when possible, family- run hotels and lodges. On our tours we avoid towns and cities and stay in beautiful, natural places near oceans, lakes or rivers. A significant amount of camping is involved during the tours as we travel further into the Mayan jungle and farther away from civilization. Duende Tours provides all camping and cooking equipment for your comfort. We work as a group to cook and eat together during our camping days. When staying in hotels or lodges, meals are served in local restaurants. Your guides will advise you on the best places to enjoy local cuisine has to offer. Although we try to have meals together, every person has the right to eat when are where they please.
