Sealaska Inn Hostel

Small town lodge located in Hyder, Alaska just acrossed the border from Stewart, B.C., Canada.
Enjoy our down-home Alaskan hospitality amidst the beautiful scenery of oceanfront, glaciers, wildlife, ice fields and mountain peaks. Sealaska Inn is nestled in the pristine Coast Mountains in Alaska on the US and Canadian borders where Orca whales, seals and otters play at our doorstep.

Most of our rooms feature two queen sized beds with all the comforts of home. We also have several sleeping rooms and currently we are in the process of adding more rooms.

A really friendly place located only 4 miles from the world famous USFS Fish Creek bear viewing platform.

You can watch Grizzly and Black Bears fishing for Salmon...Also fabulous views of glaciers.

Directions

One block after entering Hyder, turn left and the hostel is the first large building on the right.

By Road:
From southern British Columbia, travel the Yellowhead highway, #16 west from Prince George. At Kitwanga Junction turn right onto the Stewart/Cassiar Highway #37. For those travelling on BC Ferries or the Alaska Marine Highway, from Prince Rupert, travel east on Highway 16 to the Cassiar Highway #37 and turn left. The intersection is well marked.Travelling north 210 km on Hwy 37 to Meziadin Junction, turn left onto Hwy 37A. The final 65 km to Stewart/Hyder is the most spectacular scenery in the northwest. From Yukon and Alaska, travel south along Hwy 37 from Watson Lake, continuing on Hwy 37A from Meziadin Junction.

By Bus:
Seaport Limousine Ltd. provides scheduled bus service between Stewart and Terrace Monday through Friday. The bus leaves Stewart at 10 a.m. and returns from Terrace at 5 p.m. Connections can be made from Prince George and Prince Rupert Greyhound Bus service, or from airline flights.
