The House Hostel

The House Hostel invites you to be our guest while you discover Riga.We are located in the center of the cities 'bohemian' district, surrounded by the BEST bars, restaurants, cafes and shops.

As an Independent Hostel run by travelers for travelers, we pride ourselves on not just being a backpackers Hostel, But rather being a backpackers home. Our small and homely environment and central location away from the cities many 'Tourist Traps' will allow for you to have a unique and memorable experience while staying with us.

Providing our guests a laid back, safe, relaxed atmosphere and helping you make the most of your time in Riga is our #1 priority.

Home cooked meals prepared by our 'IN DA HOUSE CHEF', picnics on 'THE BENCH', or cold beers while 'BIRD WATCHING' from our smokers balcony are just a few ways to enjoy yourself while staying with us.


WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN YOU MAY ASK?? Well, you gotta GO to know!! :)

Though we are always up for a good time and a few too many drinks, we do not consider ourselves a Party Hostel. Our small size and 'intimate' space demand that we respect all of our guests right to a good nights sleep.

HOWEVER!!!! After midnight we are MORE than happy to take you out personally for a night on the town,or direct you to one of the many nearby bars or Clubs after having a few cold ones on our couch. We love a big night out, but want to make sure we are considerate of those who may need to catch up on their beauty rest!!

TAXI FROM AIRPORT:
take a taxi to BARONA Iela/LACPLESA Iela.

This will cost about 15 euro.

AIR BALTIC SHUTTLE BUS

Look for the green AIR BALTIC shuttle bus parked just outside the arrivals terminal in the airport Parking Lot. This will only cost you 3 LVL (6 euro) per person and will drop you on the corner of KR. BARONA IELA and ELIZABETES IELA , just 3 blocks from our front door.

Continue down KR. BARONA IELA for 3 blocks until you reach the corner of KR.BARONA IELA and LACPLESA IELA.

Hostel is located in the old, red brick building across the street from the Euro Park on the second floor.

ENTRANCE IS FROM LACPLESA STREET THROUGH THE WHITE GATE!

BUS 22 FROM AIRPORT TO RIGA :

This will cost 0.40 LVL or 0.60 euro.

TRAVELLERS TIP:
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SMALL CHANGE

get out at STOCKMANNS SHOPPING CENTER.

exit bus and go left towards the large Riga clock tower. cross the intersection at GOGOLA IELA and take a left.

Take the stairs down into the underpass and continue to the far side of the tunnel where you will walk up the stairs on your right.

You should see a McDonalds on the next corner of MARIJAS IELA & MERKELA IELA.

turn left at McDonalds onto MERKELA IELA and take the next right on to KR. BARONA IELA.

Continue down KR. BARONA IELA for 5 blocks until you reach the corner of KR.BARONA IELA and LACPLESA IELA.

Hostel is located in the old, red brick building across the street from the Euro Park on the second floor.

BY CAR:
Coming from Lithuania&West when you cross the bridge SALU TILTS over the river DAUGAVA, just continue driving always straight as you are already on LACPLESA street.

Continue the street until you get to LACPLESA/BARONA corner.

YOU HAVE ARRIVED

park your car across the street in the Euro Parking Lot (1.50 LVL per hour)
and come in!

FROM CENTRAL BUS STATION(AUTOOSTA):

Take left out of the Central Station.

Cross the street immediatly in front of you, PRAGA IELA, and turn left under the railway bridge.

Turn right after walking under the bridge and you will be in front of the STOCKMANNS SHOPPING CENTER.

You will see a bus stop in front of STOCKMANNS.

Continue straight past the STOCKMANNS center towards the large Riga clock tower.

Exit train station into the large STACIJAS SQUARE.

Cross the intersection immediatly in front of STACIJAS SQUARE walking towards McDonalds.

Once you have crossed the intersection and are on the corner of MERKELA IELA opposite McDonalds, continue walking straight towards KR.BARONA IELA.

take a right on to KR. BARONA IELA.

Continue down KR. BARONA IELA for 5 blocks until you reach the corner of KR.BARONA IELA and LACPLESA IELA.
