Ocoee River Whitewater Rafting Trips

Join High Country Adventures, Inc for Whitewater Rafting on the world famous Ocoee River including the 1996 Olympic Course for the more adventuresome or family raft trips on the beautiful Hiwassee River, a State Scenic River. Both rivers are suitable for beginners or experienced rafters.

Typical Day

The Ocoee River offers whitewater adventure on half day trips on the Upper or Middle sections of the Ocoee River or a full day trip by running both sections of the Ocoee including a halfway riverside grilled lunch. The Hiwassee River provides a relaxing fun filled float down 5 miles of a scenic river gorge.

Age range, type of group

The Ocoee River trips require a minimum age of 12 years old and is perfect for the more adventuresome while the minimum age on the Hiwassee River is 6 years old. The hiwassee River is where our kids were first introduced to whitewater.

Sleeping and meals

High Country Adventures consists of a 30 acre outpost in the shadow of Chilhowee Mountain and the Cherokee National Forest. Our outpost consisits of 8 mountain cabins that sleep up to 8 guests each and 10 seperate group campsites for our rafting guests. Our facilities include bathhouses, hot tubs, a retail store, conference room and outdoor pavilion. We provide onsite catered meals and are within walking distance of two restaraunts and 1/4 mile from additional fast food establishments.

Restrictions

minimum age on the Ocoee River is 12 years of age and 6 years of age on the Hiwassee river. No pets please
