Surdesti village in Maramures is most famous for its old (1721) World Heritage church, known to be the highest wooden construction in Europe (72 m tall).

One special bonus which the guests can enjoy is a beautiful mine flowers collection displayed in the host’s living room, where among many mine jewels, you can admire the amethyst, crystal that shares the name with the guesthouse.

Directions

Located in Maramures County, 18 km from the capital city Baia Mare, on the way to Cavnic. Amethyst guesthouse is situated 50 m off the main street on the left side of the road. You can take a taxi/bus from Baia Mare and it will take you about 20 minutes to reach the guesthouse.
