Brilliant hostel. Spotless clean. Great TV area, great facilities. And wait for it duvets in the dorms....Tram leaves right outside if you want to go downtown. And St Kilda is only up the road. Great spot. Overall, one of the best hostels I have stayed in while travelling the world.

Having stayed in hostels in Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Thailand I can happily say that this was the best hostel we stayed in. The standard of the room for the money we paid was streets ahead of anything else. We would definitely recommend the double ensuite to anyone and will be coming back as soon as possible.

This hostel is absolutely amazing. It is of the highest standards in every way. Rooms are spotless with plasma TV’s in ensuites and are more comparable to a hotel than a hostel. Great value too. Very helpful and friendly staff. If only every hostel was to this standard, backpacking would be heaven!!

Not enough good words to describe our experience in Cooee... Definitely stay there! It was our last stop in Oz and we without doubt unknowingly saved the BEST till last!! Fantastic. So clean and central and friendly and has everything you need!! One word = CLASS!!! Stay here you will Love it... Air conditioning at touch of a button whatever u need be it heat r cold! Melbourne is Brill city and to call Cooee home for a couple of days or weeks is nearly a Privilege as far as hostels are concerned!! YOU'LL LOVE IT!!

Directions

From the Airport
Catch the Skybus to city (Southern Cross Station). In Bourke St catch the 86 (RMIT Bundoora) tram to and along Smith Street Collingwood and get off at Johnston Street. Ignore the numbers on the street sign and cross Smith street and walk east down the hill two blocks to 137-139 Johnston Street Collingwood. (Between Wellington & Hoddle Streets). If you catch a taxi (about $55.00 from airport, and around $15.00 from City) tell the driver Johnston Street Collingwood, NOT Johnston St Fitzroy - they seem to get it wrong.
