Description

The Goldenes Schwert is a gay-friendly modern hotel situated in the heart of Zurichs old town, within 500 meters of the Lake and Fraumunster Church. There are 22 guestrooms over three floors, individually decorated in bright colors and modern furnishings, and all of which include cable television, minibars, safes, wireless Internet, and bathrooms with hairdryers. Breakfast is available in the mornings and the hotel bar, Pigalle, serves drinks and snacks and features a mosaic wall depicting scenes of Parisian life. During summer guests can relax in the beer garden with a drink or snack, and the hotel is located in the same building as the T and M Club, the oldest gay nightspot in Zurich, offering dancing, live concerts and drag shows (this can cause noise pollution at night). Multilingual staff on the front desk can provide information on the surrounding area and guests with laptops can hook up to the Internet via power plugs Internet, available throughout the hotel. Limited garage parking is available for a surcharge (28 CHF per day). Many of the citys attractions are a short walk away, such as the lake and Kunsthaus Art Museum, and Uetliberg, two kilometers away, offers impressive views over the city. Zurich Airport (ZRH) is 25 minutes by car, 12 kilometers (seven miles) from the hotel. Additional information: Children age 12 and under stay free in the room with parents and in existing bedding. Children over this age will be considered an adult.
