The Beach

The Beach is an intimate hostel situated right on the beach in trendy Albert Park with stunning bay views. We offer modern and affordable accommodation for backpackers and Interstate travellers in a small & friendly hostel with the beach and public transport right at your doorstep.

We offer 6 and 4 Bed Dorms or Twin private rooms with their own lockable luggage lockers. We also have a safe for your valuables.
We have a great new renovated public bar downstairs with bar meals and drink rates for backpackers midweek. Perfect for winter, sit in front of the open fire and watch the big screen t.v. In summer come in off the beach and have a nice cold beer.

Facilities:
Tea and coffee. New Linen included. Fully equipped kitchen. Common room with DVD. Lockers in all rooms. 24 hour access (not service). . We have a Girls only dorm. Big balcony overlooking beach. Taxes included in price..
Stay 7 nights and only pay for 6, if staying in a dorm room.

Security doors close at 1am each night then re-open at 9am. All guest have 24 hour access to the building but no arrivals after 1am.

For your leisure we are located above one of Melbourne's trendiest bar/nightclub which is open 6 days a week from 12noon closes at 11pm during the week and 1am Friday and Saturday nights.

The Beach is situated across the road from South Melbourne beach, which has bike/walking paths which stem right across the peninsula of Port Phillip Bay.

Less than 5 minutes walk is Port Melbourne and the dock for the Spirit of Tasmania and with the Route #1 South Melbourne Beach tram stopping at your door your only a 10 minute tram ride form the heart of the city and Flinders St station.
NB: No ensuites in any rooms.

Building closes at 1am, re opens 9am. No arrivals out of those hours please.
No refunds for cancellations or not arriving. The full amount of your booking will be charged to your credit card if you fail to arrive or cancel.

Directions

Catch the number 1 tram, to South Melbourne Beach, from Flinders Street and get off at the last stop at the beach. Cross the road and walk straight into our front door.
We are between St. Kilda and the City centre - 5 minutes drive, 12-15 minutes via Tram, or about 30 minutes walk to both.
