7 Bridges Hostel

The friendliest cheap and cosy place to stay in St. Petersburg. Free 24H internet access; Recently decorated; Fully equipped kitchen; a Lounge/TV room with MTV and hundreds of soviet and modern films. We also now have laundry facilities (one free wash per stay!)!

Some of us have been tourists in St. Petersburg (or Peter, as the locals call their hometown) ourselves, and we thought the only thing this amazing city lacks is affordable accommodation right in the heart of the city.

Our '7 bridges' apartment is a perfect resting place for those who would like to stay a few nights or for those who would like to make a longer stop and take time to truly experience the legendary Northern Capital of Russia. All the staff speak English fluently and are always ready to answer any questions you may have.


Located amidst Peter’s canals and numerous bridges, we can be found in a quiet street behind Turgenev Square. All our bedrooms are light and spacious allowing for a comfortable nights sleep. We also have a fully equipped kitchen and a lounge/TV room that you can chill out in. We have a huge collection of Russian and foreign music and DVDs. We now also have a high speed internet connection that you can use at any time together with all the essential gadgets that make backpacking that much smoother: skype (very cheap or free calls anywhere world-wide), CD and DVD burner, SD card reader etc. and then a lot of useful items that are available to borrow during your stay: phone chargers, battery rechargers, adapters etc.

The staff at 7-bridges are always keen to ‘participate’ in your stay - although there is always someone overseeing the hostel, we also regularly take groups out sight-seeing, to local bars or to the nearby Banya. In addition to this, we are also always on hand in the event of an emergency while you’re out sight-seeing.

It may be of interest to note that the building is also one of the residents that the Great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin choose during his time in St. Petersburg. The building itself is over 200 years old – if you’re interested just talk to one of the staff about the history of the area.

Finally, please note that there has now been a new lock fitted to the building where the hostel is located. The code is 249, (with all the numbers pressed and held down at the same time.) Getting here

There are 4 main access points to St. Petersburg.

1. Airport (Pulkovo 1) (For international arrivals).
2. Moskovski train station (Московский вокзал) (For many trains arriving from Moscow and the Baltics).
3. Baltiski train station/ Eurolines bus stop (For buses coming from the Baltics).
4. Ladjzskaja train station (For many trains arriving from Moscow).

Getting to the hostel from the Airport (Pulkovo 1).

Taxis from the airport to the centre are ridiculously overpriced. The minimum is around 1400 roubles (about 50 dollars) for a 25 minute journey. However, if you choose to do this, ask for:

Улица Лабутина, дом 36, квартира 34 – Ulitsa Labutina, dom 36, kvartira 34.

Far cheaper is the marshrutki (small Ford transit vans). They cost between 14 and 30 roubles per person. From the airport, take bus 213 which will take you to Sennaya square (сенная площадь). From Sennaya Square take marshrutka 212, 7 or 19 which all go down Sadovaja street (Садовая улица). Get out at the corner of Lermontovskiy prospekt (Лермонтовский проспект) and Sadovaja Street. Turn left at this junction and after about 50 m; take the first right turning into ulitsa Labutina (улица Лабутина). Now go right to the end of the street and you’ll see an arch with a number 36 hanging over the top. To the right of the arch is a black-brown door. Key in 34 into the intercom system and we will open the door automatically. Go up two floors to number 34. If you prefer to walk from the station, it will take you around 20 minutes (25 with luggage).

Как доехать ко мне (улица Лабутина д. 36, кв. 34) из аэропорта.

Можно поймать маршрутное такси от аэропорта (Пулкого 1) до сенной площади, там вы выходите и делаете пересадку на маршрутное такси 212, К7 или 19. Эти маршрутные такси следуют до Лермонтовского проспекта. На углю Лермонтовского проспекта и Садовой улице вы выходите из маршрутного такси. Поворачиваете на лево и идите прямо приблизительно 30 м. Поворачиваете самый первый поворот на право и вы увидите улицу Лабутина. Теперь, идите прямо до упора и вы упрётесь в дом 36. Когда Вы увидите этот дом, вы увидите арку, если смотреть на арку прямо тогда наш подъезд на право. Код 249. Поднимаетесь на третий этаж, вы увидите квартиру 34.
