Casa Kiwi Hostel Medellin

Casa Kiwi is THE place to be in Medellin. It's three blocks from all of the action of the Zona Rosa, where you find the best nightlife and restaurants in Medellin. Even though it's close to everything, when you get back home to Casa Kiwi you feel a relief to be back in a nice, comfortable, cool, relaxing environment.

I am happy to offer a pool table, high-speed internet access, a big screen TV with movie channels and a DVD library, hammocks, laundry, bicycle rental, tour and immigration information, great kitchen facilities, orthopedic mattresses, lots of hot water, airport taxi pick-up, outside deck/patio, and lots of plants, light, and fresh air. Also, all of the doors to all of the rooms have key locks, the dorms included.

Directions

Taxi Directions from either bus station:

All of the taxis use 'taxí-metros' : taxi meters, so you don't have to worry about being over-charged. It's pretty cheap to take a taxi anywhere in Medellin.

Tell the taxi driver that the house is 'cerca a Parque Lleras en El Poblado'. Going up (east) on Calle 10, turn right (south) on Carrera 35 and head three blocks to Calle 7. On Calle 7 turn right and go one block to Carrera 36. Turn right and park right there. The house is on the right, almost on the corner. There is a sign on the garage that says 'Casa Kiwi Hostel.'

Casa Kiwi Hostal: Cerca a Parque Lleras. Direction: Carrera 36 con Calle 7. Subiendo Calle 10, puede doblar sur en Carrera 35 hasta Calle 7. En Calle 7 baja una cuadra hasta Carrera 36. Dobla a la derecha y estaciona alli mismo. La direction es Carrera 36, # 7 -10. Hay un letrero pegado al garage. El hostal queda diagonal a Proximo.


Public Transportation from the Terminal Norte bus station:

You can take the Metro train from the Terminal Norte bus station, which will drop you about 10 blocks from Casa Kiwi Hostel. Get on the Metro going south towards the El Poblado station. Get off at the El Poblado stop. Walk up Calle 10 (towards the mountains) until Carrera 36 (the same corner as Dominos Pizza), and take a right. Continue on three blocks, passing a river and a Church. The house is on the left just after you pass a little super market called 'Proximo' on the right.


From the Airport:

You can take a taxi from the airport for a set fee of about $42.000 pesos. There are always lots of safe and reliable taxis waiting where you exit the airport.
