Just 7 miles South of the City of Geneva you will find Armstrong Road, just off West Lake Road along route 14 heading south towards Watkins Glen which is only 29 miles away to the NASCAR race track and the annual Finger Lakes Wine Festival.In a setting of 9000 square miles, there are 11 Lakes and over 1000 waterfalls and numerous gorges, which were formed at the end of the ice age when tremendous grinding pressures gouged enormous holes in the land forming what is now the Finger Lakes region of “Up State New York”. many of these gorges are now State Parks and provide beautiful walking and hiking trails.These amazing Lakes range from 3 miles (5km) to 40 miles (64km) in length and from 30 feet (10m) to over 632 feet (194m) in depth! Cobtree is ideally situated for those wishing to attend reunions or visit students at many of the Finger Lakes Regional higher education facilities and is within easy reach of Cornell and Syracuse Universities, as well as the Agricultural Research Station in Geneva.
