Description of Active Adventure

We offer three different kayak tours. 1.)3- hour wildlife tour by kayak.2.) 5-Hour Orca Search by Kayak.3.) Outer Island Kayak Tour. All include a short lesson and see a great deal of wildlife. The 5-hour tour offers the extra time to see Orca Whales from your kayak. We launch from finger docks so you are immediately on the water heading out. We also offer Whale Watching/Wildlife Tours by Boat and see whales from our boats over 90% of our tours. In addition, we rent small motor boats and sit on top kayaks from our Roche Habor docks.

On a typical tour we see Bald Eagle, Great Blue Heron, Seals, sea birds too numerous to list, kelp forest, tide pools, unbelievably beautiful coast lines of San Juan Island, views of Mt. Baker and the Olympic Mts.The waters around San Juan Island are calm and are perfect for kayaking and wildlife viewing. Our kayak tours include a short paddle & safety lesson. No experience required. Our reputation is built on respectful wildlife viewing. Our safety record is stellar.

Age range, type of group

Family Kayak Tours can take children down to six years of age. Any person in average shape can take our 3-hour kayak tour. A person should have a good deal of upper body stregth to take our 5- hour Orca Search and be at least 13 yrs. Anyone of any age can board our Whale Watching Vessels, however we have found children over 4 years do better on boat trips 3 - 4 hours long.

Sleeping and meals

3-hour Kayak Tour: A water bottle and snack. 5-hour Orca Search by Kayak: water bottle & snack & sack lunc. Outer Is. Tour: Lunch, snack & water bottle. Whale Watching Tours by boat: water bottle and snack and bring your lunch or dinner if you like.

Restrictions

We will take children down to 6 years on the 3-hour kayak tour. The five hour tour is reccomended for 13 years and up. One must have a great deal of upper body strength for this tour. All ages aboard the whale watching vessel. We do not allow smoking on our tours and they are 'cell free' zones. Gratuities not included in tour price.

Since we specialize in small personalized sized tours, they fill quickly. Reservations highly reccommended.

Discounts Offered

We will give a 10% discount for groups of ten people or more.We also now offer a 10% reduction for Military and their families (with ID).
