Hostel Egon

Hostel Egon is by the Vltava river bank on the site, where the famous expressionist Egon Schiele painted his Krumlov houses. It is situated in an old mysterious building, exactly like those on his oil paintings, not far from the city centre.

It is only a small house, offering two four bed dorms and one 3bed private room, a great breakfast terrace and garden terrace with BBQ above the hostel.

Our programme involves canoe and raft rental for Vltava river and bikes for rent are here too. (you can start directly in front of the hostel doors!!) We will recommend you the trip and explain all you need. We can also arrange horse riding on the nearby farm. More information about boats and bikes you can find on our websites.


Upon your arrival you will recieve a free map and the most precious info, how to survive in Cesky Krumlov!!

Please notice that from September to April check-in is until 7 pm ( 19:00)!!! If you are late, you risk loose a beds.

Directions

The easiest way to get to Cesky Krumlov from Prague or Ceske Budejovice is to take one of the freqent trains or buses.


BUS:
- Get off at the main Krumlov bus station - the last stop of the bus, and walk towards the castle tower until crossing a quite frequent road (ca 80ms from the station).
On that road turn to the left (so the castle is on your right side)and follow the road towards the river bridge. Before the bridge turn left again- this street is called 'POD SVATYM DUCHEM' - and after 50ms you are at our hostel. It should not take more than 10 mins.

TRAIN:


The best for you is ask on the train station in tourist service - they can tell you the time table, call for you taxi or show you the map.

- If you take the train from Prague, our staff will probably (BUT NOT DEFINATELY!) pick you up from the station for free.

If not, take the bus from the bus stop opposite the train station, which stops at Tavirna (this stop is a 3 minute walk from the hostel).

In case you would like to take a short walk through the city centre (THIS SHOULDN´T TAKE YOU MORE THAN 30MIN!!!) head down towards the castle tower by following the main road which will take you down a fairly steep path into the town. Follow the only street (it is called LATRAN) and on your right will be the UNIOS TOURIST INFORMATION (if you say you are going to EGON, you will recieve a map for free).

Keep going down the same street until you get to the town square: cross it to get to the far right corner and you are at NA LOUZI. Turn left and walk towards the bridge. Cross the river and climb up the stairs in front of you. Follow the street and it will take you to another bridge. Cross that bridge and take the road immediately right from the bridge - this street is called 'POD SVATYM DUCHEM'.

After 50m WELCOME TO HOSTEL EGON!! on your left (the fifth house No 132, mutual reception with hostel HAVANA)
