Age restriction: The Hostel is not for children or any people under 18 years old.
After this weekend we will close for the season, please book for our sister Hostel, Gold Cst.

Please book only after reading this SPECIAL NOTE: this is a diferent Hostel, meant for people who want to chill. This is not a madhouse. We are not and we can´t be Party Central. For those hardcore partiers looking to live it up like a rock star and have the best week you'll never remember, we strongly suggest that you book one of the other places in town who specialize in creating that type of atmosphere. You're never far from a great party in Lagos, but following it up with a good night's sleep in a relaxed and serene environment is priceless. That is what you will get at Carlos House.

Welcome to Lagos, a small laid back town, famous by its good vibe and party atmosphere, not to mention the warm and sunny days. Here you’ll find top quality beaches with their clear sands and clean waters. Our coast has great quality of air and seawater hard to find elsewhere in Western Europe. Lagos has also an interesting historical heritage. If you are experiencing Spain & Portugal, travelling here it’s definitely a must, since Lagos has the perfect atmosphere for everybody.

Carlos House is located in Lagos downtown in a quiet place, but within walking distance from beaches, sea and all facilities, including restaurants and bars. Lots of nightlife around.

Portugal is easier if you are in a budget since most supermarket food and beverage is cheaper then in most western European countries. You can also get food out in lots of places. Meals may range from 3 - 4 euros (take away Chicken shop) to 6 - 9 euros for pizzas and special pastas. Light meals may be around five euros or cheaper and you’ll find awesome meat, fish or seafood dishes ranging from 7 to 15 euros.
At night, booze at the best spots may range from only € 1.50 to € 6.00 a drink for most of them, including shots and cocktails.

Specials: We inform about special transportation from Faro Airport to Lagos and from here to there. If you are interested, contact us (48 hours advance) after making your booking.

Directions

Coming from Faro or Lisbon you can take either a bus or a train. They run several times a day, being even more frequent on the summer and on weekdays. Coming from the north of Portugal, you'll go to Lisbon first and then directly to Lagos.

Coming from Spain: you can go to Seville and take a direct bus to Lagos. Sometimes you may get a bad info in Spain about this. Some people don't realise there is a direct bus and they will inform on alternatives which are time consuming and not necessary since you can take the bus in Seville (Plaza de Armas station). The buses to Lagos run twice a day on winter time. In summer, normally, there are even more everyday.

Flying to Faro Airport: you can take a taxi or a bus to Faro downtown where you'll find both the train and bus stations almost side by side. As mentioned above, you can use one of those to get to Lagos.

Carlos House is close to the Lagos main public transportation, such as bus and train. About 10 minutes walking distance.

By train:

Walk through the Marina, cross the suspension bridge and turn left to the main avenue (Descobrimentos Avenue). Continue down the main avenue, you should pass a Repsol Gasoline Station on your right hand side. Continue on for a minute and you will pass a fish market, taxi stand and post office (on a commercial street). Then, there is a small square with a funny statue in the middle. (ATTENTION PLEASE: don’t walk to much on the main avenue or you’ll get to a big square with another statue far from us and you’d have to return).
From there (small square), enter Rua (street) Garrett towards the next little square. You will see at one corner a shop named “Obrigado”. Enter the long street next to it (Rua Infante de Sagres) and go up the hill. Turn the second right, then the first left and finally you'll see our street “Jogo da Bola” after just 50 meters. You'll find us at the number eight.

By bus (except for the Renex bus):

Leave the bus station towards the river and turn right into the main avenue (Descobrimentos Avenue). Continue down the main avenue, you should pass a Repsol Gasoline Station on your right hand side. (Start here, please, if you arrived on RENEX bus).
Turn the second right (a steep street), and then the first left and finally you'll see our street “Jogo da Bola” after just 50 meters. You'll find us at the number eight.
