This small, quiet, clean and friendly hostel is only 5-10 minutes walk from EVERYTHING (that's worth seeing) in Riga! There's a tram/bus stop 30 seconds away (with the train and bus station 2 stops away) in case you do want to venture further afield.

We have located our hostel by choice in the best area of Riga where it is a short walk to the best places in Riga. We are In a clean and safe part of town.

We have a 4 security door system with a single easy to use electronic smart card. Each dorm bed has its own underbed locker that can fit your whole bag, our fire safety system is directly connected to the Fire Department and CCTV cameras monitor entry points.



Because we only have a maximum of 25 guests at any time you get much more personal attention than you would in larger hostels and we're happy to spend some time giving directions and passing on our local knowledge of places to go and things to see. Our reception staff is always available to help make sure you enjoy your stay in Riga and have the perfect day of sightseeing and night of partying.


This is not a “party hostel” but we do have a HUGE fridge full of cheap beer/drinks. So feel free to hang out on the couches, watch the big screen TV (movies available) and have a few (and maybe a few more) pre-party drinks with the other guests. As the night gets going the staff will be heading out to find (or start) the party elsewhere so come along for some good times, or just ask for tips about where to go. Riga's night life is amazing when you know the right places!


We also have a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, free coffee/tea and even a blender! There is a supermarket only two blocks away for self catering and plenty of nice, cheap restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. Nearby you will find traditional Latvian food as well as Indian, Japanese, Lebanese, burger, pizza and coffee shops.


And of course we have free internet access on the computer in the lounge and free wifi all over the hostel if you're carrying your own laptop.

GREENEST HOSTEL! I dont like greenwashing, but I hope youll consider taking some steps to make the hostel greener, young people now a days are very conscious of this and us being a reen hostel could really boost bookings!! If I was traveling and had the choice I would pick the hostel that claimed to do green things. Ive already put up some funny notes around the hostel, but we can do a lot more that wont cost money 2! :)

The new manager River is a die hard environmentalist, so the hostel is undergoing changes to help it become more socially and environmentally responsible. We want to be the greenest hostel in town! We have offset our businesses Carbon Emissions using “the Carbon Fund” this would cost about 130 lats/year and is a great thing to advertise and we offer all guests the ability to offset you're trip. (usually only 1-3 euros depending on how far you come) (no pressure though) :-)

APARTMENTS AND FAMILY ROOMS
Apartments have minimum 3 days and are not located in the same building. Our website map shows the location. Family rooms are in the hostel and have a Double bed and two single beds - email us for Family Rooms.


Check Out
Check Out is 12 noon standard from your room. If you Check out of your room before you have to depart Riga, you are welcome to leave your bags at the hostel all day, or relax in the Common Room and watch movies, drink some beers, chill out, etc.

Directions

RIGA STUDENT HOSTEL is located within 5 minutes walking distance from the central train station and within 3 minutes walking distance from the international bus station.

From the airport, you should take the bus No.22, which takes you from the airport
to the Riga central railway station. The best stop for you to go to the hostel is however one stop before the last one. This right bus stop is called
Stockmann and is located near the big shopping centre Stockmann. From this
stop you have to go into the Old town direction up to the Valnu Street, just
straight till the crossing with the Teatra Street. The way to the hostel could
take about 3-5 minutes.
Or take a taxy, which will bring you to the hostel.
