Haris Youth Hostel

The Haris Youth Hostel is a top-rated hostel in Sarajevo. Even though there is a hill to climb to get to the hostel, guests will draw their breath whilst taking in the fantastic view afforded to them of Sarajevo. They will also fall silent with awe once they hear the “the call to prayer“ echoing through the air from the nearby mosques.

The hostel is located 5-10 minutes walk from the old town centre(Baščaršija) in the oldest part of the city called Vratnik. Vratnik was built uder the Ottoman influence and still has defensive walls guarded by the Kapi Towers which are open to the public.

Added to the musical and scenic beauty on view from the balcony; the Haris Hostel can also offer a number of excursions and tours. Among them is the infamous Sarajevo city tour given by Haris himself lasting for 6 hours. The tour takes in numerous historical buildings and placs of importance down through Sarajevos fabled history.


We can also offer excursions to a number of important and significant towns and areas in Bosnia. Places such as the medieval village Lukomir including a hike to a nearby canyon and waterfall, a day trip to the Srebrenica memorial park, Visoko home to the bosnian pyramids(yes pyramids) includes a trip in an airplane, Travnik home to a fortress and many more.

Directions

From the main Sarajevo bus and train station

1. Take tram No.1 and exit on Baščaršija station (8the station).
2. The office is 30 seconds away from this stop. Once you get off the tram you will see a wide street in font of you, to the right on the corner you will see a supermarket (Konzum), you need to take the smaller street behind and to the right of this supermarket. The office is on your left hand side.

From Lukavica Bus Station

1. Take bus number 31e (Vijecnica-Dobrinja). The journey lasts around 30 minute.Get off the bus at the last station (Vijecnica) map. From here the office is about 3 minutes walk.
2.From there you need to turn right onto the street with the tram lines on it.
3. Continue up this road til you come to the main square on your left hand side.
4.Turn right, you will see a supermarket (Konzum) You need to take the small street behind and to the right of this supermarket. Our office is then on your left hand side.

Airport

If You are arriving by plane the only way to get to our office is to take a taxi which shouldn’t cost more then 15€ or You can contact us and we will organise transportation for you.
