
The Skalkaho Poor Farm is nestled in the Bitterroot Valley near Hamilton, Montana. Originally built in 1910, this Skalkaho ('Land of the Beaver') homestead was one of the original farms on the east side of the valley. Over the years its orchard has produced apples, pears, apricots and plums. We also raise and train Arabian horses.

Lodging consists of one dormitory style room with four beds as well as an authentic-style crow tipi for camping with an awe-inspiring view of the Bitteroot and Sapphire Mts. We also have limited availability for a private suite.

There is a common room with stove,microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker . The country atmosphere is sure to provide for a relaxing getaway.
Directions
From Missoula, travel 47 miles south on Hwy 93 to Hamilton, MT. From the street light at Main St in Hamilton continue south on HWY 93 for 3 miles to Skalkaho Pass road. Turn left (east) on Skalkaho Hwy. Go three miles to North Shoshone Loop. Turn left. As you go around the first bend you will see a sign for the Skalkaho Poor Farm on your left. Continue down road for ¼ mile. Turn left on dirt rd. Stay left and follow driveway to light green farmhouse with dark blue trim.
