We provide dorms (mixed and single sex) and private rooms, AND NOW OUR NEW PRIVATE ROOMS WITH EN SUITE BATH for up to 4 people. All en suite rooms are set up for double (1 double bed) as well as twin (separate beds) occupancy !

ALSO spacious comfortable common rooms with relaxing sofas and flat screen t.v with DVD’s and games, and a fully equipped kitchen with a HUGE courtyard, BBQ area and SWIMMING POOL, provide a great place to chill in N'awlins before heading out for a FUN night. The atmosphere is second to none.

The hostel is Internationally owned and European managed with a casual atmosphere and located at the corner of 3200 Canal St. and South Lopez St., in the Mid-City area of New Orleans.

India House has NO curfew or lock-out period. Kitchen, common rooms and all facilities are available 24hrs a day. In addition we are walking distance to local pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and all amenities a traveler would need. Or just enjoy a relaxing time in our rear courtyard sipping a cold beer with fellow travelers from around the globe. We some have great festivals coming up.
First there is the Satchmo Summer fest in the French Quarter July 30th through August 2nd with Live music and all the great food.
On October 9th is the Po Boy fest with of course every great Po Boy you can imagine and Live music.
As if Halloween is not a big enough party in New Orleans, there is the Voodoo Music Experience starting October 30th through November 1st

Directions

From the airport you can take the airport shuttle ($10 per person, one way), or a taxi ($24 flat rate for one or two people).

If you are driving, directions to St. Vincent's (1507 Magazine Street) from the I-10 interstate from either east or west are:
1. Exit at Business 90 Westbank
2. Take Carondelet/St. Charles Ave exit and go straight
3. Turn right at Magazine Street
4. St. Vincent's is on the right hand side of Magazine Street and the corner of Race Street.

Catch the Magazine Street bus from Canal Street and get off at Race Street, or catch the St. Charles Ave street car and get off at Felicity Street (near Walgreens) and walk the four blocks across to Magazine Street and St. Vincents.
