Hi-mid Cape

Experience the beauty of Cape Cod's many wonders at Hostelling International- Mid Cape. Only one mile from the sandy beaches and wondrous sunsets of Cape Cod Bay and five miles from the unbroken expanses of the Cape Cod National Seashore. HI- Mid Cape's central location makes it the perfect starting place for any Cape Cod expedition.

Our cozy cabins are a great way to get back to nature, while the creature comforts of our large kitchen and dining area add modern convenience to the cabin's rustic charm.

The surrounding hostel grounds offer countless activities for the outdoor-minded. Nature lovers can enjoy the bird feeders and baths which attract winged wildlife. Athletes can enjoy a game of sand volleyball. Bikers can pedal down the nearby Cape Cod Rail Trail, a 30-mile bike path that attracts thousands of visitors each year. Our 50 bike rack has a slot patiently waiting for your cycle.


Each guest must show a government issued photo ID to check-in. Guests under 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Hostelling International is a non-profit membership based organization, promoting peace through hostelling since 1909. Non-members will be asked to pay a $3 non-membership fee per night upon check-in.

Cabins have only the beds in them, bathrooms are in the main building, which is a very short walk from the cabins.

Directions By Car:
The hostel address (75 Goody Hallet Dr Eastham MA) works very well with GPS or Google Maps. Once on Cape Cod, take Rt. 6 to the Orleans rotary (roundabout). From the rotary, exit at Rock Harbor. Turn left onto Rock Harbor Road. Turn right onto Bridge Road. Turn right onto Goody Hallet Drive. Hostel is on the left.

Directions By Bus:
From Hyannis or Provincetown, take the Plymouth & Brockton bus to the Orleans rotary (roundabout). (Do not go to Eastham!) When you board the bus, tell the driver you need to get off on the Orleans rotary (roundabout) at the Rock Harbor exit; drivers will do this during daylight hours. From the rotary, turn left onto Rock Harbor Road. Then turn right onto Bridge Road. Turn right onto Goody Hallet Drive. The hostel driveway will be on your left. The walk from the rotary to the hostel is about 0.75 mi (~1.2 km).

If you will arrive by bus, it is critical that you arrive before dark as the walk to the hostel is along a road with no sidewalk. It is certainly safe to walk to the hostel, but only during full daylight. (There is no taxi service in Orleans.)

Since you must arrive in Orleans before dark, you must leave Hyannis on the 4:30pm bus (or earlier). That means leaving Boston on the Plymouth & Brockton bus that leaves around 2pm. That means leaving NYC Port Authority on the 9:30am bus.
