Smoking; all rooms in the BnB and Hostel are non smoking, but smoking is ok in our courtyards and upper level boardwalks. All rooms contain Air Conditioning, Heating, Cable TV, AM&FM alarm clock cassette players, Telephone and a book on the genre of roots music with a cassette tape to hear the artists displayed on the walls in old time window panes as well as a comment book to read past guests comments and for you to leave a comment for future guests, If desired. Common area for all guests has a Fireplace, Piano, Cable TV with VCR.


Music at Gram's Place; The music and ambience will and can transport you back in time with recordings from the 1920's to present day, at our Courtyard BYOB Bar and Jacuzzi area. Our CD player has 400 plus classic CD's loaded/listed in a music menu and ready at your finger tips to set the mood you want in your room or either courtyard. Our two Courtyards with the oversized in-ground Jacuzzi, courtyard Waterfalls & Lazy day hammocks are open and available to guests 24 hrs a day/night and the music level provides a perfect atmosphere for conversation.

The Crow's Nest (The Stairway to Heaven ) is 2nd and 3rd level decks for walking in the trees, bird watching, stargazing, watching the space shuttle take off, and taking a smoke break. For Traveling Musicians and Music lovers; Jam sessions are encouraged for good quality fun. Guitars (left and right handed), piano and other instruments on site. Arriving at the entrance gate you will see a sign that says 'Mitakuye Oyasin', a Native American phrase which means 'We are all Related'. This spiritual consciousness allows us to see you as a relative and not just another travelling guest.

Clientele are; Respectful, Tolerant, Business Professionals, Couples and Family's with children from all walks of life, as well as some Artists, Musicians, Singers, Songwriters, Actors, Painters, and Poets from all corners of the world. You'll find Gram's Place most comfortable and eclectic, with the laid-back feel of a faraway island and a European (and sometimes bohemian) attitude. Each room has its own comment book for you to read past guests' comments and leave one for future guests.

If you plan on taking a cab, please read:
Tampa cab drivers will take you on a long long ride to run up the fare if you let them. You will have to take control of this situation, so for your sake, print out these directions and make sure the cab driver follows your orders.

Directions from the greyhound bus station and on to the city bus/streetcar system, (or by car or cab): note; when you get on the city bus, buy a $3 dollar all day pass and have correct change with you as the bus driver does not give change. They do not have bus transfers either. Last bus leaves at 10:05pm m-f, (7:30pm sat.) 6:40pm sun.
Go west, 1 block on polk st. to morgan st. turn right (go north) on morgan st. 4 blocks to the marion transit center (mtc). Get on the florida ave bus #1) ask the bus driver to stop at the first bus stop past floribraska ave, just 1 mile north. When you get off the bus you will see Plymouth St. Go left (West) 3 blocks to Ola ave. You are here. Entrance gate is first gate from the corner on W. Plymouth St.

In front of the Train station is a street called ZACK ST. Go the only way you can go which is West on Zack st.(one long long block and two regular blocks) to Morgan st. Turn right (Go north) on morgan st. 5 blocks to the marion transit center, (or get on any bus from the train station going to the marion transit center.) when at the marion transit center, get on the florida ave bus #1 ) ask the bus driver to stop at the first bus stop past floribraska ave, just 1 mile north. When you get off the bus you will see Plymouth St. Go left (West) 3 blocks to Ola ave. You are here. Entrance gate is first gate from the corner on W. From the airport get on bus # 30 downtown bound to the Marion Transit Center. Get off the # 30 bus and get on The Florida ave bus #1 ) Ask the bus driver to stop at the first bus stop past floribraska ave, Just 1 mile north. When you get off the bus you will see Plymouth St. Go left (West) 3 blocks to Ola ave. You are here. Entrance gate is first gate from the corner on W. ARRIVING TO THE TAMPA AIRPORT and travel BY CAR OR CAB to hostel;

Exit airport to I-275 North. The first exit past the I-4 exit is EXIT 46B (old exit 29), MLK blvd. Go down the exit ramp, make a left (west) ½ mile (3 traffic lights) to Highland ave. Do not turn on Highland ave. Go past Highland ave 2 blocks to Ola Avenue. Turn left (south) ½ mile to Plymouth St. and Ola ave in the N.W. area of Historic Tampa Heights. You are here. Take I-275 South to EXIT 46B (old exit 29), that is MLK Blvd. Go west (right turn) ½ mile (3 traffic lights) to Highland ave. Do not turn on Highland ave. Take I- 75 North to I-4. Then take I-4 West (towards Tampa,) Just Pass the Ybor City Exit on I-4 get in the right lane. (Note; this is where I- 4 ends at I-275.) Be sure to take I-275 North. The first exit on I-275 North that you will see is EXIT 46B (old exit 29). that is M.L.K. Blvd. Go west (left turn) ½ mile (3 traffic lights) to Highland ave. Do not turn on Highland ave.
