Simply relax, unwind, and let your mind take you back to a place in time.Enjoy our eight classic log cabins, ten canvas wall tents, a Yurt, and a 2,000 foot main house are all nestled near the base of Old Man Mountain in a wooded glen where Shinneyboo Creek and the stunning South Yuba River meet.Surrounded on three sides by the beautiful Tahoe National Forest, these spectacular forests of Jeffery Pines and old growth Cedars provide thousands of acres of rushing rivers, sparkling clear mountain lakes, emerald granite pools and trails like the Pacific Crest Trail and the Old Emigrant Trail of the 1800's for you to explore the Back-Country of the High Sierras.

Enjoy your own cabin with all the quiet pleasures of camping -- like warm firelight and cool starlit nights, along with the comfort of a good bed, a down comforter, private Jacuzzi tub, the warmth of a cast iron stove, and fresh coffee or tea in the morning on your own porch. All provided with beautiful vistas of the Tahoe National Forest within a casual stroll from your cabin.

Shinneyboo Creek is pleased to offer these family-owned, newly built cozy cabins for your relaxed romantic Sierra Nevada mountain experience. Each luxury cabin decorated uniquely with colorful quilts, rugs and pillows, one queen-size Serta Perfect Sleeper bed, down comforter in the winter (non-down available), loft with assorted futon mats, private Jacuzzi tubs, in-room warmth from a cast iron stove, a table with two chairs, deck chairs, an outdoor fire ring, and umbrella patio-table sitting area. We also provide a small convenience kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, BBQ, and hot pot for tea water. We call it "pamping". All the pleasures of camping with a comfortable bed, fresh linen & towels, privacy, your own bath, and the flicker of continuous firelight for cold winter nights.

Enjoy our close proximity to the Donner Summit ski resort areas, Truckee, Squaw Valley, and Lake Tahoe, as well as the culture of the Gold Country in Nevada City.Our cabins are located 15 minutes from Sugar Bowl, Boreal, Soda Springs and Royal Gorge. The Rainbow Lodge & Cisco Cafe are both close-by for delicious meals.

Directions

Shinneyboo Creek Cabins Off of Interstate 80 on Donner Summit.Take Eagle Lakes Rd (Exit 164), which is between the Hwy. 20 and Cisco Grove Exits.Go north on Eagle Lakes Rd (south turns quickly to dirt) for a mile and a half (don't turn off the paved road) and the road dead ends right at Shinneyboo Creek Cabins.
