Relais Cavalcanti

A charming Relais in a XIIIth century palace of the historical centre of Florence, a few steps away from the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi and the Duomo. Located on the third floor with elevator, Relais Cavalcanti provides to its guests an unforgettable panoramic view of the very heart of Florence.

In medieval times the palace was a tower belonging to the Cavalcanti’s family, whose famous poet Guido was a close friend of Dante Alighieri and here in 1583 was founded the old Accademia della Crusca that gave birth to the first vocabulary of the italian language.

Breakfast is not included.
We are not serving breakfast but there are many characteristic florentine cafés with delicious cakes nearby our home.
There is a nice common dining room where you can prepare a cup of tea, chocolate or coffee and have some biscuits, plumcakes and some jam and marmalade too whenever you want. It's a free self-service!


Our rooms, all different, are spaciuos, romantic and luminous. They have been done in pastel tonels and furnished with sophisticated hand-decorated pieces in 18th century venetian style. Each bedroom, with ample ensuite bathroom featured white/green/grey marble, is equipped with double windows, air conditioning, satellite TV, mini-bar, telephone, internet plug. Daily cleaning and daily new towels are included in room rate too.

The difference among Superior Room and Standard Room is only the view.
Our Superior Room windows have beautiful views. Some are facing the tower of Palazzo Vecchio, Orsanmichele Church and a characteristic florentine old market, located in the famous 16th century Loggia del Mercato Nuovo.
Others Superior Room windows are facing a medieval area of Florence next to the Palazzo di Parte Guelfa.
Double Standard room has a view on a narrow street.

Our location is superb: we are right in middle of the centre of Florence, just 80 meters far from the Uffizi and the Old Bridge. We are located in a pedestrian area. There are no cars or traffic, though you can reach our front door by taxi or by car. You couldn't ask for anything more central!

Please note that our place is not a hotel. It's a lovely warm home with a familiar management. Me (Anna), my sister (Francesca) and a friend are running this place and we will do our best to make your stay as nice as possible.

There is no 24 hours reception or room service but we are always at your disposal every morning and sometimes in the afternoon as well. We will help you to reserve tickets for the museums, give suggestions for restaurants and things to see and we will arrange for you tours of Florence or Tuscany (only if you like). If you have a car we will tell you where to park it. We can arrange baby-sitting as well.
You will have your own keys to get in and out of the apartment and there is NO curfew.

We are on the forth floor with elevator (lift), but there are 21 stairs to reach the lift from the main front door on the road. The rest of the building has only private apartments and the area is safe and quite.

Minimum stay required is 2 nights.
Our cancellation policy is 72 hours.

You couldn't ask for anything more cosy, romantic and central!

Directions

By Car:

The highway “Autostrada del Sole” (A1), a toll road, shortens travel from Florence to Milan (Km 280), to Rome (Km 273) and Naples ( Km 468). The Firenze Mare Highway (A11), a toll road too, connects Florence with Italy’s Western coast, as well as with Southern France. Since most of Florence downtown area is closed to private cars and Florence is often traffic jammed, participants are strongly discouraged to use private cars during their stay in Florence.
