Red Palm is a hostel for international backpackers. Unfortunately we don't accept bookings by Malaysian nationals anymore. Reservations made by Malaysian nationals will deem to be void.

Please take note that we are a backpacker's hostel. All the facilities are on a sharing basis. Our place might not be suitable for anyone who is not used to the backpacking experience.

Due to a pre-WW1 house, Red Palm is not suitable for travellers below 13 years old and above 65 years old.

Red Palm is not a party hostel, it is a place where you can feel at home, relax and kick back in the middle of the bustling city.

We are a hostel for backpackers in Bukit Bintang, or the 'Golden Triangle', which is the major shopping and dining district. The food nearby ... don't get us started on this one ... mmmmh. You can even directly order food and drinks from the Indian restaurant next door through the fence without even having the leave our premises ;)

We are located in a historical colonial house and our guests always mention the homely atmosphere in the house.

We also offer high-speed internet, printing, cd-burning, phone facilities, laundry service, book swap corner and a shelf with tons of travel infos for Malaysia and SE Asia. You can also connect your laptop on your own desk to the world. You can chill talking to other travellers or us, watching Satellite TV and DVDs. Breakfast is inclusive as well as tea and coffee all day long.

We are looking forward to share our cultural and travel experiences with you.

Directions

RED PALM is just 1min from the Corona Inn in downtown Kuala Lumpur (Bukit Bintang / Golden Triangle). The name of the street is: Tengkat Tong Shin. The house number is 5.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE:

We are located at Tengkat Tong Shin (a one way street), look out for house No.5 (with 2 red doors at the balcony) on the right side of the road opposite 8 Guesthouse and next to the Indian restaurant 'Tg Nasi Kandar' and Foot Reflexology 'KL Valley'.


FROM PUDURAYA BUS TERMINAL

1) Taxi

Give the taxi driver the address (No. 5, Tengkat Tong Shin, a one way street). It's close to Corona Inn and right opposite 8 Guest House and next to the Indian restaurant 'Tg Nasi Kandar' and Foot Reflexology 'KL Valley'. Taxi fare will cost approx. RM5 - RM10.

2) Walk

The better option is to walk from the bus station which would take about 10 minutes. From Puduraya bus station take the pedestrian bridge to get on the other side of the street (Katari Hotel) and walk to the right along Jalan Pudu (Pudu Street). You will pass by Tong Shin Hospital (on the left). Further down on the right side of the street you will see Swiss Garden Hotel. Take the left lane opposite the Swiss Garden Hotel main entrance and walk towards a chinese vegetarian restaurant, follow the path till you reach Corona Inn on your right, facing Tengkat Tong Shin. House No. 5 is on the right side of the street opposite 8 Guesthouse and next to the Indian restaurant 'Tg Nasi Kandar' and Foot Reflexology 'KL Valley'.


FROM KLIA AIRPORT

1) Taxi :

- Get a taxi coupon at the counter near the arrival hall. Normally would cost:

Budget taxi - RM 67.40
Premier - RM 92.40

*at Radius International, go into Tengkat Tong Shin (Radius International will be on your right hand side, and 7-Eleven will be on your left hand side) and look for Number 8 Guesthouse on the right side of the road. Red Palm is across the street from Number 8. Look for house No 5, as we do not have any signboard.

4) KLIA Express Train:

The fast train takes 28 minutes to KL Sentral Station. Fare is RM35.00 one way. Frequency - every 20 minutes

FROM LCCT AIRPORT TERMINAL

- Skybus = RM 9 (every half an hour)
= 7am - 10.15am (every hour)
= last bus at 1.15am

- The taxis without coupon waiting at the airport bus stop are famous for ripping travellers off.
- Give the taxi driver the address (No. 5, Tengkat Tong Shin, a one way street). It's close to Corona Inn and right opposite 8 Guest House and next to the Indian restaurant 'Tg Nasi Kandar' and Foot Reflexology 'KL Valley'.

2) Monorail

- Only recommended if you travel light.
- 5 minutes walk to the hostel
- might be packed during rush hour
- The monorail station (Sentral Station) is across KL Sentral on the other side of the road
- Buy a ticket to 'Bukit Bintang' station for RM 2.10
- From there you will have to walk to the hostel by using the map on our website
- Monorail operating hours: 6.00am - midnight
