Now our NEW hostel is located in the Historic District of San Jose, located Downtown. In this area you have all the bars, restaurants, cinemas, museums, supermarkets, banks, ATMs, shops, fast food restaurants as well as more formal places to eat, everything you need to enjoy your vacation, located just a few blocks away from Kabata Hostel.

Kabata Hostel is located two blocks away from Parque Morazan, located in the famous historic neighborhood of Barrio Amon. For a night in town, famous places like El Pueblo with many different bars, discos and restaurants is really close to the hostel, but in Downtown there are many options -- like Cafe Mundo, just 3 blocks away -- available at a walking distance from the Hostel... imagine what it is to go, enjoy and return, without needing to take a taxi or walk far away... There is a night life choice for every taste, be it noisy and loud or calm and quiet. In all of these bars you can drink, eat, dance, and meet people that like to party or relax like you do!!!

All the major bus terminals are nearby, between 5 and 10 blocks away. The closest one is the Caribbean bus terminal where you take buses to Puerto Viejo de Limon, Cahuita, Guapiles, Limon, Bataan (to get to Parismina), Matina, Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui; and to Cariari, where you get the bus to Pavona and then the boat to Tortuguero. The San Carlos bus station, where you take the buses to La Fortuna (Arenal Volcano), Monteverde and Ciudad Quesada, is 7 blocks away. The famous La Coca-Cola bus Station, also located 7 blocks away is the place to take the buses to Jaco, Manuel Antonion and Quepos, Orotina, Atenas, Montezuma, etc. Tracopa-Alfaro bus Station located 8 blocks away has buses to Tamarindo, Nicoya, Golfito etc. At 1 Km away but in different locations, you have the Pulmitan Terminal for the buses that go to Liberia; Puntarenas Bus Terminal; the Musoc Bus Terminal with the buses to San Isidro del General; and the Turrialba bus Terminal.

1 -- We can go and pick you up at the airport,
just outside, when you pass customs. We need to know:

Luggage: Normal - Lots/Heavy - Surf boards

We will be there with the hostel logo sign, so it
will be easy for you to find us. Please, when you
go out of the airport, and find the electric
doors and a big window in front, please go to
your RIGHT, to the exit on the Right side of the
electric doors. It will be a pleasure to go and
find you at the airport!!! The cost is: One or
two: $20, Up to four people $25. More people, just ask...

2 -- Or if you prefer, you just pick the Orange
Airport Taxis: Taxi Aeropuerto. The cost of this
service is $25. There is a little ticket office
just outside the main door of the airport, just
when you pass customs. In there you need to buy
the ticket, and tell them that you have a hostel reservation and are going to:

3 -- The taxis authorized by the government are
Red, with Yellow Triangles on the doors. They
must use the Maria meter to calculate the fare.
For long trips you need to negotiate the fee. You
can ask different cabs to check which one is
better. If you want to take one of those Red
Taxis, just give the hostel address.

4- From San Jose, 2 blocks North of Plaza de la
Cultura in Central Avenue, you find the Kiosko
(Music Shrine) in Parque Morazan. From the
Kiosko, just walk 2 blocks North and you will
find Kabata Hostel on your left side, first
building after the corner. This is Street 7 with
Avenue 9 and 11. Building #927.


Note:
We are waiting for you. Don't belive if the taxi
driver seems to make a call and tell you that we
are full or something like that. Just take
another taxi. Also some taxi drivers are stolen
clients, so they offer to take you to our hostel
and take you to other place, so that is why we
recommend that you take our service.

The normal scam is they offer to help you, asking
where you go, then they dial the phone number of
someone helping them, saying that they are
calling the hostel
