At this museum you can find the marvellous well known Colossal Heads of the Olmec Culture. Although we are located right in the middle of the humid Gulf of Mexico Coast, Xalapa is at 1,200mt above sea level, 2 hours on the way up to the fresh, cool mountains which was the route the Spanish Conquerors took in1492.

Directions

From Xalapa Bus Station CAXA:
-Take any bus to Plaza Museo, walk one block upwards to the end of the street which hits right to Orizaba Avenue. Turn right one and a half blocks where Posada Margarita welcomes you!

-Take a taxicab (about $2 US) and ask for Posada Margarita near Plaza Museo. 2 blocks from the Museo of Antropologia: Avenida Orizaba127.

From Veracruz City Airport take a Bus to Xalapa (2 hrs trip),
-From Puebla City by Bus to Xalapa (3 1/2 hrs trip),
-From Mexico City by Bus to Xalapa (5 hrs trip), and you will arrive to CAXA.
