Academica Summer Hostel

HOSTEL ACADEMICA IS THE HOSTEL OF THE YEAR 2008

Hostel Academica has won the contest of the Hostel of the Year 2008. Contest was organized by the Finnish Youth Hostel Federation.

Welcome! Hostel Academica is situated in the heart of Helsinki, within walking distance from Helsinki railway station, from tram and bus stops and from Kamppi metro station.
All our rooms have private bathroom and toilet, little kitchenette and refrigerator. To make your own meal: closest grocery store is only a few steps away!
Sauna and swimming pool are also free of charge every morning. Also bedlinen and towels are included in the prices.
When staying at Hostel Academica, you'll easily reach restaurants and cafes, nightclubs, shopping centers, beautiful green parks, beach and the main sightseeing attractions in the city. They are all within walking distance from us!



We welcome groups, congress participants, families as well as individual travellers.

Directions

From the airport:
a) Take a yellow line airport taxi to our hostel (1-4 persons eur 20)
b) Take Finnair airport bus (eur 5.20 per person) to the central railway station
c) Take a regional transport bus 615 (eur 3.60 per person) to the central railway station

From the central railway station:
a) Take tram number 3T (one way ticket eur 2.00 but if you already have a ticket for regional transport bus from the airport, you can use the same ticket within next 1 hour) from Mannerheimintie. The tramstop called Lasipalatsi, is located in front of the department store SOKOS. Our tramstop called Kauppakorkeakoulu-The School of Economics, is the second one from SOKOS. The tram turns to the right but keep on walking straight ahead. Turn left to the street called Lapuankatu and go straight ahead so you reach our street, Hietaniemenkatu. Hostel Academica is on your right.

b) Take a metro from Central railway station to Kamppi (eur 2.00). Take the exit on Runeberginkatu-side and turn right. Hietaniemenkatu is soon on your left. Walk down the street and hostel Academica is on your left side, just before Mechelininkatu crossing.

From Katajanokka terminal:
Take tram number 2 or 4 to Aleksanterinkatu, tramstop in front of department store STOCKMANN. Change to tram number 3T. Our tramstop called Kauppakorkeakoulu-The School of Economics, is the third one from Stockmann's. The tram turns to the right but keep on walking straight ahead. Turn left to the street called Lapuankatu and go straight ahead so you reach our street, Hietaniemenkatu. Hostel Academica is on your right.
