The Amsterdam resort is a bungalow resort located about 200 meters from Khao Lak Beach which is becoming much more popular as a tourist stop and is right on the Andaman coast, approximately 70km north of Phuket island.
The resort features different types of low cost rooms and freestanding bungalows. There are aircon and fan rooms in the main building. There are small bungalows with a fan, and big bungalows with a fan or with aircon. All the big bungalows and the aircon rooms in the main building have hot water. All the rooms and bungalows have a private bathroom. Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis
There is a restaurant offering Thai and European food and a bar on the premises. The owner, who speaks English, German, Dutch, French and Thai, is very well informed about the Khao Lak area and about Thailand in general. The resort also rents out motorcycles and bicycles, and there is an internetroom. There also is an inhouse travel agency.

In Khao Lak, which mainly has upmarket places to stay, this resort is a nice meeting spot for travellers. In the beach area it is probably the cheapest place to stay.
