Comfortable 2 B.R. Log Cabin with private beach

Surrounding Area

Clayoquot Sound is a world biosphere preserve, and has famous surfing
whalewatching, kayaking, hot springs, fishing, sailing, hiking, beaches, storms (in winter) and birdwatching. It is a major staging area for waterfowl migrations including many varieties of ducks, swans, Herons, Bald Eagles, Osprey, etc... In the spring we have the grey whale migrations right past the beach, and Orca, porpoise, sealions, seals, and seaotter have been seen as well. The Pacific Rim National park has maintained walking trails and free educational tours, as well as public beaches like Long Beach. Tofino is full of tour companies that also rent kayaks, bikes, boats, and native canoe rides and events.

Vacation Rental Property

Our cabin has all the basic conveniences and is on its own 2 and a half acres of old growth Rainforest. A short walk thru this majestic forest brings you to the pristine pebble beach, on inlet waters so they are very calm and private. (Cabins on the public beach have people constantly walking by them, camping, partying, etc...Locals all like to live on the inlet!) It is a bird sanctuary and there are no docks, buildings, etc.. - usually no other people in sight! There are canoes and minikayaks and it is a great place for a quiet evening beachfire under shooting stars. Kids love the minikayaks, the trampoline, or they can dig clams, collect shells and explore the trails, hollow trees and creek.

Sleeps & # of Bedrooms

The cabin sleeps 6 comfortably with 2 bedrooms and 2 futons in the LR. The MBR has a queen bed, there are bunk beds in the other, and the seperate LR/DR has the futons. There is one bathroom with a shower/tub, toilet, and sink.

Amenities

This nice size cabin has all the basics; in the separate kitchen you will find a large new fridge/freezer and stove, microwave, coffee maker,toaster, plus all linens and dishes. There is even a large Maytag washer and dryer as well. In the spacious living room/dining room there is a telephone, a TV/VCR/DVD/FM stereo as well as some DVDs, CDs , and books. The glass patio doors lead to a large deck with a propane BBQ and deck table and chairs. There is individually controlled electric heat in each room.

Services Offered

We try to supply every possible thing you might need, except your clothing, and we ever have boots for you if you need them. We clean the cabin before and after you use it, and if you need help there is a number to call. If you want internet service, we can arrange a dialup provider if you let us know in advance.

Restrictions

We have guests with allergies so we ask not to smoke inside the cabin, but that pets and smoking be on the porch or back deck.

Rates & Availability

All these rates in CDN$:Off season is 800/week; 150/ night with a 2 night minimum. Off season is from Oct 1 till April 30; excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas holidays, Easter, and Spring Break. Summers- from May 1 to Sept 30 are $220 CDN per night, with a 3 night minimum and 2 adult maximum. One week rental is $1200 CDN, more adults and fewer days can be considered at an extra cost. ($25/Adult/night) Note: these prices subject to change without notice; but if you book now you can still get these posted rates for up to Sept 2005!

CHECK IN:
You are welcome to check in any time after 5:00 pm of the night you first book. If there is an exception to this required, please make arrangements in advance. Someone will meet you or the key will be placed under the doormat just before you arrive.

Directions

The cabin is at 1032 Campbell St; (which is also the highway coming in to town- Pacific Rim Highway) about 1 mile out of Tofino on the inlet side- the right hand side of the highway as you are driving into town. There is a sign for the Red Crow with a picture of a red crow on it and we are the 4th drive after that. The sign at our cabin is on a large curved branch with ?Kayak Cove? and 1032 written on it. You can see the cabin if you look down the driveway, it is only about 60 feet in.
