Braemar on Parliament Street is a heritage listed building in a beautiful tree-lined street in the Auckland Central Business District, downtown Auckland, offering elegant and comfortable Bed and Breakfast accommodation to the discerning traveller. Starting at
$167 per night
Braemar is situated in an historic residential precinct in the Auckland Cental Business District and is unique for being the only Victorian townhouse in the Auckland CBD still lived in today. We are just a short walk from the city's parks, theatres, cafes, restaurants, art galleries, concert venues and shopping malls. Even though we are in the heart of the city, we are located in a quiet tree-lined street and the solid Victorian architecture of the house means that we are able to offer a quiet haven in the city centre.
Braemar was built in 1901 as a "gentleman's townhouse" . We have restored the house and renovated the services to incorporate 21st century technology including secure wireless broadband internet. In our own offstreet carpark we can offer free parking . All of our bathrooms have walk-in showers and large claw-foot baths. The guest lounge features a projector TV (very large screen!), and open fireplace for winter warmth. In summer our sunny decks are popular for relaxing . Braemar on Parliament Street Bed & Breakfast in Auckland City has been recognised as one of New Zealand's most environmentally responsible tourism businesses with its achievement of Qualmark's Enviro-Gold accreditation. Enviro-Gold is the highest rating able to be achieved under Qualmark Green, a set of responsible tourism criteria designed to extend environmental and socially responsible actions for tourism businesses. The criteria recognises energy, water, waste, community, conservation programmes and monitoring. Braemar's green programme covers the full range of responsible tourism criteria, from water and energy conservation and waste minimisation to involvement in community programmes in wildlife conservation and heritage preservation.
The main street of Auckland City is just a short walk away, and literally hundreds of cafes, bars and restaurants are nearby from which to choose. The city also offers up-to-the-minute gymnasium facilities and swimming-pools. We have inhouse computer facilities, wireless broadband access throughout the house.
We have four guest rooms available. Two rooms share the large restored bathroom, one has an insuite bath and the fourth is a suite of three rooms with its own ensuite bathroom and lounge. All bedrooms feature superbly comfortable beds, goosedown duvets and a choice of wool, dacron or down pillows. Our eco-friendly toiletries are complimentary and guest bathrobes and slippers are available. Towels are changed daily.
We can organise pretty well anything you need; if we don't have it we'll do our best to find it for you. If you would like a massage, you can attend the neighbouring spa or we can arrange an in-room service. Braemar is our family home, so if you are with us for an extended stay you may choose to eat with us. Just let us know your preference when you book. We have a"coffee-nook" where you can make your own tea or coffee whenever you feel like it and there will be cake available!
Our house has stairs and we have a fun black toy poodle. Braemar is a non-smoking environment. Stiletto heels are not to be worn in the house so as to protect our beautiful Kauri floors.
