Perhaps nowhere else in the world is the marine life as rich, diverse or colourful as in these warm waters of the Indian Ocean stretching 470 miles across the equator, a garland-like atoll chain dotted with countless reefs and 1190 islands, nearly a thousand of them uninhabited. Encounters with 10,000 to 100,000 schooling fish with 30 to 50 eagle or manta rays are not uncommon. This is one of the best places in the world for fish photography.
