Broughton-in-Furness is located in the Lake District National Park and is fondly known as "Undiscovered Lakeland" and dates back from the 11th Century. It is the gateway to the beautiful Duddon Valley, the River Duddon so immortalised by Wordsworth and surely must be counted amongst the first of the most scenic rivers in England. Broughton-in-Furness is the ideal touring base for the Furness Peninsula and the Lake District. Fell Walking, Climbing, Outdoor Persuits, Bird Watching, Sailing and Golf and places of historic intrest are all on the door step.
