Three national parks provide the opportunity to explore spectacular unspoilt scenery which draws nature lovers from all over the world. Kershaw House is superbly located for day trips to the Abel Tasman, Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Parks, all of which provide an extensive network of hiking trails suitable for all levels of ability. For those seeking relaxation, two beautiful yet very different beaches are a short 10 minute drive away.

Accommodations

Kershaw House is a grand example of colonial residential architecture in New Zealand of the 1920s. Built during the celebrated Art Deco period in 1929, Kershaw House is listed with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust as a Category Two building of historical significance.


A typical residential New Zealand setting and personal touches and hospitality from your hosts Nicky and Ian give guests the opportunity to feel at home during their stay in New Zealand. Nicky also speaks fluent German after having lived many years in Switzerland.

Rooms/Suites

The finest bed linens grace the French cherry sleigh beds in tastefully decorated spacious ensuite rooms. All four guest rooms are located on the upper level of the house reached by a sweeping oak staircase. Each room has been uniquely furnished and has its own character, however all provide the highest levels of comfort and quality furnishings.

Kershaw House is situated within close proximity to restaurants, cafes and local vineyards - all offering excellent dining experiences. Your hosts will provide restaurant recommendations to ensure you sample the best of local cuisine during your stay.

Stay at one of the finest historic homes in the Nelson region and enjoy a gourmet breakfast, complementary port, air conditioned rooms, guest internet terminal, tea and coffee making facilities and homemade baking. In addition to spacious rooms, guests can relax in the guest lounge or in the outdoor relaxation area.
