Surrounding Area
Just 12 miles east of Jacksonville are what locals refer to as "The Beaches"---Mayport, Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville Bch, Neptune, Ponte Vedra, etc. These beaches provide more than 50 miles of white-sand beaches, from Amelia Island to the north and historic St. Augustine to the south. The attractions, restaurants, and boutiques that fill these coastal areas provide an enjoyable recess from the surf and sand. Atlantic Beach provides a wonderful opportunity to take day drips to local attractions: Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens; See the St. Johns River aboard a paddleboat for sightseeing and lunch; Visit the Jacksonville Maritime Museum, the Jax. Museum of Contemporary Art or the Jax. Zoological Gardens; Take a ferry from Mayport, one of the oldest fishing villages in the nation, and take a ferry to reach Amelia Island following the Buccaneer Trail.
Vacation Rental Property
CONDO-BY-THE-OCEAN : A RARE FIND There are those who believe life at the ocean's edge has a quality and calm untouched by any other setting, natural or unnatural. For those who yearn for their own place by the sea, away from the tangles of city life, our Condo is a rare find indeed. Our Condo is located on Atlantic Beach, the oldest and most private of a string of beach communities that are along the Atlantic Shore near Jacksonville, Florida. Atlantic Beach has traditionally been a comfortable community of summer homes, gentle tides, radiant sunrises and desirable residential privacy. At high tide, the ocean is less than 300 feet away with no streets to cross and the balmy sea breeze never stops. Go to sleep to the lull of the ocean and wake to an invigorating dip in a large, fresh-water swimming pool just outside your door. This 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath Beach Condo is a large, ground-floor, corner unit that has its own secluded charm. It has just been redecorated with light and "beachy" furniture, new carpeting throughout, and white tile floors.Sliding glass doors lead to the enclosed outdoor patio where there is a gas BBQ grill. Inside, there is a full-size working kitchen, separate dining room, living room and separate conversation pit with built-in banquettes in front of a wood-burning fireplace. There are two separate entrances to the unit, and a laundry room is located two units away. Atlantic Beach is considered an affluent but slow-paced beach town. From the Condo you can take a 2-minute walk to a public tennis court and park with playground. The downtown area (just minutes away, also) is a quaint and safe place with cobblestone streets and hosts many fine shops and cafes. The finest seafood restaurants in Northeast Florida are close by; also a treasure trove of small shops. And everywhere, the soothing sound of the waves regulates an easy pace for living. It's quite possible that our Condo is everything you've always wanted.... and then some.

Other Information
In this region of Florida, small towns are the norm and large cities the exception. Tucked off seaside roads and backcountry rural routes are the special hidden places that add to the unique appeal of Florida's First Coast. Ships of all sorts still set sail from the historic fishing village of Mayport. Further south, Jacksonville Beach always attracts plenty of beachcombers, but history buffs will find the town is worth a visit as well. The Pablo Historical Park explores the role of the Florida East Coast Railway in developing the area and offers guided tours of historic buildings.
