Activity/Tour
Black Sheep Touring Company specialises in guiding small flexible personalised group tours throughout New Zealand. Our tours combine fine dining and luxury accommodations with the best of the culture, scenery and activities New Zealand has to offer. We involve you in the country, letting you experience places larger groups will never see. We immerse you in ever-changing, stunning scenery that continues to amaze throughout your visit. We take you on activities that will challenge and excite you, leaving you breathless and thrilled. Our three week Experience New Zealand tour covers both the North and South Island of New Zealand. This tour can also be split into a 9 day North Island tour and a 14 day South Island tour. Activities to be enjoyed on this tour include sailing in the Bay of Islands, hiking with a naturalist through the rainforests of the Coromandel Peninsula, a visit to an active volcano, interaction with the indigenous people of New Zealand, the Maori, in the form of a hangi (Maori feast), visit to the world class Te Papa museum, sea kayaking in the Abel Tasman National Park, whale watching and swimming with the seals, hiking on the stunning Kaikoura Peninsula, an overnight stay on a sheep farm, the world famous TransAlpine train journey across the Southern Alps, helicopter flight over the glaciers of the South Island, and overnight sailing trip in the majestic fiords of Fiordland National Park. Visit as a guest and leave as a friend.

Typical Day
We start the day with a hearty, cooked breakfast...great fuel for the activities of the day to come. Depending on where we are in the country we then offer you a stunning range of activities that may be as active as swimming with seals or visiting an active volcano, or as tranquil as perusing the national museum, Te Papa. We always have daily options so your personal and specific needs can be met. Dinner is usually a la carte at some of the finest restaurants. This is a great time to reflect on the day and swap stories with your fellow travelers over a glass of excellent local wine. Later that night you will luxuriate in your accommodations, each carefully chosen to reflect the character of the region you are visiting.

Age range, type of group
Our guests usually fall into the 30 - 75 age range. They are savvy travelers who love intimate interaction with their surroundings but prefer not to deal with the hassles of organising their own trip. They enjoy the good things of life but love to get out and experience things first hand.
They love to be enriched with information, culture and history about the country they are in and enjoy the personalized interaction they share with our guides.
Sleeping and meals
We believe that dining is an integral part of the traveling experience. Our dinners are mostly a la carte in some of the best restaurants available. Local complimentry wine is served with the meals. Breakfast is a cooked affair and lunches are often picnics, enjoyed in the outdoors at various stunning locations.
We use some of the best accommodations in the areas we visit. These are a mixture of lodges, boutique hotels, and city hotels. All reflect the character of the area we are in and are chosen for their superior location.
Restrictions
Our guests are limited to 18 years and above. Due to New Zealand animal regulations, pets are not easily bought into the country.
Rates
Our tours range from USD 4,000 to USD 9,400. Our rates typically include all activities, accommodations, guides, transport, and meals.
