Surrounding Area

Set in the ancient Granite Highlands of Central Ontario, the area boasts incredible landscapes of towering granite rock and marble surrounded by thousands of acres of both hard and soft woods. Known as the mineral capital of Canada, Bancroft hosts the annual rockhounding festival every August, where collectors come to trade and dig from all around the world. The region is also known for its spendid autumn foilage, the abundance of wildlife and in winter, excellent conditions for cross-country skiing, luging and dog-sledding.

Accommodations

Embraced by a spring-fed lake, pristine forest and gardens, the inn was inspired by old-world European charm, with castle-like impressions, stone turrets, tapestries, rod iron and Gothic windows. The Great Hall, a casual meeting lounge overlooking the lake and gardens, boasts a 25 foot fireplace and downfilled couches. The inn is surrounded by a small moat with extended meditation garden and walkways.

Restrictions

Grail Springs is designated a smoke-free environment however, guests are provided with ashtrays and welcomed to smoke on their balconies. Small pets may be welcome, but prior arrangements must be noted. Children over 12 welcome.

Other Information

Ride the Grail Coach, a 35 foot luxury motor coach, complete with washroom, kitchen, coffee maker, treats and comfortable seating. Will pick up anywhere. Clients can also fly into Bancroft Airport by private plane with prior arrangements.
