Maravu caters to those who want a peaceful and relaxing vacation, with lots of opportunity for adventures. A private beach, swimmingpool, flourishing gardens, excellent restaurant and fine wines, only 21 beautiful individual bures, and very personal service await the guests. Tours to tropical waterfalls, along scenic coastal areas, to outer islands for snorkelling and into the bush for the rainforest and bird watching make Maravu special. Horseback rides on our private bush walks, mountain bikes, open-ocean-kayaks, snorkel- and fishing gear, are free of charge. Easy to arrange are deep sea fishing, golf, tennis. And of course Maravu offers worldclass diving and deep sea fishing.

Accommodations

There are five categories of Bures: Planters Bures, Deluxe Bures, Honeymoon Bures, Honeymoon Deluxe Suites and Oceanview Spa Villas.The Planters Bures are located in Duplex Buildings and if needed interconnecting.The Deluxe Bures and the Honeymoon Bures have a private outside shower with sundeck and a Jacuzzi Spa Pool.The Honeymoon Deluxe Suites and Oceanview Spa Villas feature beside the private outside shower and a sundeck a big Jacuzzi Plunge Pool.Maravu has opened a new Bure that is known simply as “The Treehouse”. The Treehouse is the finest and largest accommodation at Maravu. Connected to the Resort via a 150-metre long wooden pathway, The Treehouse is located on a prime piece of the property, high above the trees, providing wonderful views, privacy and seclusion. It features lavish decks integrated with a raintree, and has large open living spaces. There are two full indoor bathrooms as well as an outdoor, open-air bathroom featuring a state of the art Jacuzzi pool in a private, Venetian-glass walled courtyard that can be opened to the seaside.Like all of Maravu’s accommodations, The Treehouse has air-conditioning as well as a CD stereo and a fully stocked mini-bar. The finest of linens, as well as spectacular palm wood furniture and original artwork help make The Treehouse a truly luxurious experience. Magnificent sea views can be enjoyed from all aspects of the bure, including the bathrooms, outdoor shower, and Jacuzzi pool.

All Bures (Bungalows) are equipped with air-conditioning, fans, Minibar, CD-Stereo-System, Desk and Seating Area. Shampoo, coconut soaps, oils, cotton-pads and bath-robes for your free use. The décor of the villas blend rich tropical colours with complete comfort and polished elegance.The bedrooms feature a king size bed, beautiful wood floors, palm wood furniture, ceiling fan, fully stocked mini-bar, tea/coffee-making facilitiy, large tiled bathroom and a secluded veranda. All Bures are airconditioned. The Honeymoon Bures have partial ocean-view while the Oceanview Spa Villas & The Treehouse have a magnificent 180° sea- and island-view.Room service, housekeeping and laundry service are available daily to ensure that guests are well taken care of.

The rate for the Oceanview Spa Villa (USD 480.00 per night/couple) includes a Spa Package consisting of two Maravu bath robes, two Maravu Massages (25 minutes each), two traditional Fijian scalp massages (15 minutes each) and two Pure Fiji body scrubs (25 minutes each). 4 nights minimum stay.

The rate for The Treehouse (USD 580.00 per night/couple) includes a Treehouse Package consisting of two Maravu Massages (25 minutes each), fruit basket, two Sulus (Fijian skirts), half day trip to romantic Bouma Waterfalls and a half day Westcoast Tour. 4 nights minimum stay.

Other Information

Available Tours: HALF DAY WEST COAST TOUR: A beautiful scenic four-wheel drive tour along the Western Coastal road of Taveuni. Visit the chiefly village of Somosomo, which offers a small selection of shops and local businesses. Then on to Waiyevo, the Government centre of Taveuni. Here you will find the world famous marker for the 180 Meridian Dateline. Visit the 1907 stone church at Wairiki. To finish your tour off we have saved the best part till last, the Waitavala waterslides!FULL DAY WEST COAST TOUR: Includes all of the above, however includes the famous Taveuni Blow Holes, a visit to a great snorkeling location where you can enjoy your picnic lunch and a demonstration on Copra making at a local village. HALF DAY DES VEOUX PEAK TOUR: Rising 1,196 metres above sea level is Des Veoux Peak. It offers panoramic views, virgin rainforest and exquisite and abundant birdlife. Here is where you will find Fiji's national flower- the sacred and beautiful Tagimocia; it grows nowhere else in Fiji or the world. FULL DAY DES VEOUX PEAK TOUR: It includes all of the above but after a picnic lunch it is down to the picturesque Lake Tagimocia, which is formed by a volcanic crater. Please note that this is a very rugged tour and not for the faint hearted. Hiking shoes are recommended and above average fitness. Early morning bird watching, which commences at 5.30am to lunch time. FULL DAY LAVENA COASTAL WALK: It is a delightful outing that takes in Lavena's wild and scenic coastline and the lower Wainibau waterfalls. It is a flat walk almost all the way with a stunning waterfalls at the end. The walk is graded easy to moderate meaning most people of most ages and abilities can complete the trip. AFTERNOON QELENI VILLAGE AND HANDICRAFT TOUR: Traditional Fijian culture can be experienced at Qeleni. It is an eco tourism project in the highlands that offers cultural handicrafts for sale. A beautiful rainforest walk and an insight into traditional Fiji.A traditional Meke is also a highlight of this trip. HALF DAY TAVORO WATERFALLS TRIP: An adventurous half day tour to Bouma National Heritage Park. The tour includes great views over the coast and outer islands, some of the best rainforest in Fiji with lots of birds and other wildlife. Tales of the traditional use of forest plants and a swim at the Bouma Waterfalls. GUIDED SNORKELING: Be guided to the best snorkeling spots on Taveuni to view abundant and colourful corals and a myriad of tropical fish. FULL DAY ISLAND HOPPING: Includes all of the above, however we show you the outer islands Qamea, Matagi and Laucala and have a picnic in a Tree house!HONEYMOON ISLAND TRIP: Be dropped off on a secluded uninhabited small island and enjoy beautiful snorkeling and perhaps a picnic lunch!MORNING WAIRIKI MISSION CHURCH SERVICE: A Catholic Church built in 1907. Directions

Taveuni Island is a one hour flight from Nadi International Airport away. Pacific Sun/Air Pacific is serving Taveuni at least 2 times a day, one flight in the morning at approx. 7 am and one flight in the afternoon at approx. 2 pm. Costs are approx. US$ 250 per person return including taxes & surcharges.
